    I know you're thinking, - what in the world is this guy doing with a tractor? I have equipment out the ying yang but I'm just not familiar with this tractor.

    230 no oil dip stick

    I'm sure there is a way to check and add oil on a 230 engine. All I can see is a drain cock looking knob and a grease fitting right below it on the left side of the oil pan. Someone help an idiot out here.

    I've been around almost every type of machine except a farmall tractor. I've got a "57" 230 and I don't see a dip stick or any place to put the oil in. I guess that I'm just an idiot but there is what looks to be a drain cock on the left side of the oil pan with what looks like a grease...

    I just rescued a 230 out of the weeds. If the engine is seized what kind of oil do I need to pour in the spark plug holes to loosen it up before I try to turn it over or is that what I need to do?

    I have just bought a 230 in the weeds. It has hydraulics front & back. Can't find Ser# after looking on right side of clutch housing, under the seat on tool box and everywhere else. Fuel tank in rusty inside and it needs a radiator. Someone smashed it in pushing it into the weeds. Going to...

    Farmall 230

    I reckon I must be blind. This tractor has McCormick Farmall 230 in chrome on each side of the hood. It also has a hydraulic package on it with a cylinder on the back and on the front. Other than that, it looks like a farmall with a set of cultivators on the belly. I will be tinkering with it...

    My ser# plate is missing from under the seat. I found the number 1 * 2 * D on the tractor and on the engine I found a stamped number of 1811779 and below it was 6 * 2 * ? couldn't make out the rest. HELP!
