    Ledger plate sharpening?

It is a good point. Clearance between ledger and section is important. Getting the correct edge would be difficult with the ledger in the guard. Incorrect settings require greater energy, that is fuel, to run the mower. With tractors and operator can just use more throttle. With older, horse...

    F-12 fuel pipe vent

This is the part that screws in. It has a small breather hole in it. Only fitted to kerosene F12 tractors, except very early ones, which had a setup similar to F14 kerosene tractors. Usually the plug is missing and the casting is therefore full of rust and other foreign matter. SadFarmall

    Farmall 450 sediment bowl valve

I had the same trouble with one on my Farmall M. It took a deal of time and patience to get it out. Had to keep turning the valve handle fore and aft to keep it free and make it possible to undo the nut. There was sufficient debris inside which to catch the valve cone and jam the assembly in...

Farmall M thermostat---does it require a snap ring?

The arrow on the gauge face above the N on RUN is shown in my Owners Manual from July 1951. 1947 book doesn't show it. SadFarmall

Farmall M thermostat---does it require a snap ring?

Checking my Farmall AM (that is Australian M), which is 99% the same, there were two thermostats: 37634D or 33814D. There is no snap ring shown in the diagram, just gasket 45984D. Certainly no snap ring fitted on my Farmall M. I have only seen water temperature gauges here with an arrow on the...

    1935 International C35

Speedometer, oil pressure gauge, temperature gauge, fuel gauge and ammeter are all out. Now it's hard to find someone who can restore them. They're not broken, but time and the elements have not improved them… SadFarmall

    1935 International C35

So far progress has been to get the truck into the farm shed so its completely under cover and start cleaning the motor and transmission. There is mud, old oil, grease and dust on everything. Near-side of the motor is now cleaner and generator, distributor and starter motor removed ready for...
