Wrenches that are 25/32 sized .....

My dad had a box end that was 19/32 on one end and 11/16 on the other. Its been a long time, but if memory serves, you could take an old Ford engine apart and put it back together with that wrench.

    why I hate spell check

To put it mildly...I hate auto correct. I disabled it shortly after I got my new smartphone and saw the stupid corrections it was making!

    Have one of these ?

It is a anti sway stabilizer for the 801 hitch. I have one on my JD 60. An old neighbor who bought a new 60 gave it to me. Said it came with his tractor. Best I can figure, this was an early attempt at stabilizing the 801. Most that I have seen have anti sway chains that attach to the drawbar.

    Problems with Scam calls

Robert, since you have had this problem for 8 years, I wonder why you don't have caller ID by now? That is the simplest way to filter calls. In my case, it got to the point where most of my calls were the junk calls you mention, or at least it seemed that way. I finally had enough, cancelled my...

John Deere 60 Stuck Exhaust Valve

The JD 60 has some hefty rockers. It would take a lot of pressure to bend one. If you just want to drive in a parade a couple times a year, maybe you can figure out a way to loosen up the valve. If it is a work tractor, I would bite the bullet and pull the head, do a valve job and make sure the...

    HAPPY NEW YEAR

I think folks my age get nostalgic when another year passes. I was just thinking that my dad wasn't a farmer, but we lived in the country and had some good friends who farmed. When I was a kid in the 50's, I jumped at the chance to visit them and help with the chores. They had a 1945 John Deere...

    block boring and machining work

American Automotive went out of business a year or so ago. I think B&R Automotive on Chapman Hwy in Knoxville is still open. They rebuild diesel truck engines and have bored 2 cyl blocks for me. The problem is not only the big bore, but it also takes a very long boring bar. B&R'S # is 865-573-7109

What have you searched for that was right there???

Agree with you that gremlins love to torment us by hiding things in plain sight. It couldn't be me who misplaces all the stuff around here!! I am also convinced they are multiplying because more and more things are going missing only to magically reappear where I looked a few minutes before!!

    OT Computer ?

Maybe I'm missing something, but why don't you send your emails from the Windows 7 computer? In any case, instead of hooking two computers together with usb cable, why not set up a gmail account and download google Drive. All this is free and it is a cloud system, so you can access your email...

Aspiring Farmer and I need some advice!!

Lots of good advice on here. I would add that you should consider availability of parts and service when you buy a tractor and equipment, especially older stuff. I would also advise you to look for a tractor with modern features like 3 point hitch, live PTO, power steering, etc. IH and Case...

    Allis Chalmers D-14 Tractor

I owned a 14 and really liked it. The Power Director hand clutch made it a great baling tractor. It lets you go back and forth between high range and low range or neutral on the go without stopping the PTO. Also works great when plowing. When you hit a hard spot, you can pull the hand clutch...

If it is cheaper, Americans we don't care about the consequ

Right on! The American economy depends on immigrant labor for farm workers, construction workers, and anything else that requires physical labor because Americans won't do it. Anybody on here tried to hire an American to help with farm work lately??? Case closed.
