Farmall Cub - down on Compression

I just wanted to mention that the hand reamer shown isn't leaving a very smooth surface where it cut. I realize that it was stated that they would lap the valves, but why? If you used a drill press, or a milling machine to power that same reamer, you could control the down pressure better which...

    Big Tex 14GN 25+5

I have a 2013 20+5 14GN with no issues other than the deck having to be replaced, going on the 3rd time. It is getting aluminum decking this time around. David from jax

whats top dollar on a B Allis

Might be my computer screen, but blow the picture up, and it appears that the torque tube has bleeding marks from the battery and who knows what else. A properly painted tractor shouldn't show that, just thinking to myself. About $1800 to $2000 is where I am at... but an in person view might...

    Allis B Rear Light

Dick L is correct in saying that the white light you have pictured is incorrect. The bullet shaped red ones are also incorrect for a B. The correct one has an almost flat clear lens, with the outer circumference having a red light. The red one is the hard part to find. I have several of the...

allis b with no front holes to locate side weights

Not unusual at all. I have a couple that don't have holes in the plate that the side engine weights are mounted to. I thought about drilling one of those plates, but since I have the front axle weights, decided to just put those to good use. The front axle weights are probably better for your...

    CA cuts out when hot

My mowing B does that, but it is because it has an unvented gas cap. I just loosen the cap and it starts running fine again. Guess I should find the correct gas cap, but it hasn't been a priority. David from jax

    AC B side mower???

I have one sitting out back by the blueberry bushes. Picked up another and loaded it on the upper part of my 5th wheel trailer. It is still sitting up there, haven't had any reason to take it off. That has been a couple months ago... David from jax

    D-14 question

I would run a compression test on the engine. Then squirt about four teaspoons of oil in each cylinder and run the test again. If the pressure increases drastically with the oil, then it is probably a ring problem. If you have one (the front one) that is low and oil in the cylinder doesn't help...

Thank you Zach! Was the R-hand plow a steel or cast moldboard type? David from jax

Allis One Way and Two Way plows for a B/C

I am going to start looking for a single or set of the plows that mount on the back of the Allis B/C tractors. As far as I know, they are called one way and two way plows...assuming the one way to be a single (right plow) and two way to be a pair, (left and right plow). I know they came in steel...

    ER kit for 1959 D17?

Two days probably isn't enough, and I would use the 50/50 acetone/ diesel fluid as a penetrant. Good luck to you, some never give up, but most likely it will at some point. As far as the dished pistons, do you think it might have been for using Kerosene (ie distilate fuel?) Allis...

    OC3 modification questions

I have always been interested in a crawler. A small one, with D8 pulling capacity would be great but have to be realistic, lol. I own nothing Oliver, know even less, except a Cousin has completely restored an OC3, and WOW is it nice! There is a 3 way trade possible, a trailer for a...
