    Oliver 77 alternator question

Definitely can be done, have done it with a 10si on a 77 with side curtains. Modify your bracket, shove the alternator tight to the block, get your belt measurement, pull it away from the block 1/4" to tighten it up. Done

    M Oil Filter Housing

Can someone tell me if this is an early oil filter housing? If so, which oil filter do I need? I think the standard Fram is a 136A? Thanks in advance. I'm not a Farmall expert by any means..

John Deere G unstyled rod bearings

Thanks Teddy. I ordered a standard set of bearings from the following site: Hopefully they are the right ones. I'm not a John Deere guy to say the least. John Deere G Bearings

John Deere G unstyled rod bearings

A buddy of mine has been working on an early John Deere G and it's time to order rod bearings. The bearings he pulled out don't say STD or designate that they might be oversized. What is the stock rod journal diameter on an unstyled G crank? We measured 3.370. Thanks for the help.

    88 weight

I had an 88 diesel band brake with no hydraulics and no belt pulley in 5000. It had cast centers all around. My guess would be that you will have to pull the hydros and belt pulley to make 5000 with a 200lb driver.

    Oliver info?

Well depending on what size pistons you have already a simple 770 carb on a good running engine will net you 55+ horse at stock rpm's. If you have a head guy with a bowl cutter I would suggest bigger valves. The easiest of which is to find some late 550 valves that are larger than the 77-770...

    Oliver 77 value?

Depending on the area of course, you should be able to get a running 77 or 88 for $1200 to $1500. While disc brakes are easier to replace band brakes aren't that bad, except when trying to brake while in reverse... If you have a leaky bull gear seal either brake type performance will be...

    Guages

I thought there was a place that advertised in the Oliver Heritage magazine that rebuilt gauges but without an issue in front of me I could be mistaken. A google search for rebuild gauges comes up with a few places although they seem to be automotive. The cluster gauge for a 770 is only $68...
