    So, it's not a Cole 12-MX

Have a Cole planter on loan, thought it was a 12-MX, then thought it was a horse drawn planter converted to 3-point. While I still don't have a model number to use to search for set-up instructions, I did find a neighbor with a different model Cole planter than either the 12-MX or the one I'm...

Where can i buy grade 8 shear bolts

Thanks, I'm aware of the mm bolts grades but I'm not fluent enough to make a recommendation on a grade five comparable. For grins - it's raining here so stuck in the house - I just looked up an online a PSI to MPa converter. 85,000psi (high end of G5) is close to an 8.8. Two sources used...

    Trustworthy Aftermarket Electrical Companies . . .

560Dennis, look for a high performance parts warehouse online - like Summit for a mechanical fuel pump. You might have to get creative with the plumbing. I was involved in building Chevy LS engines for a couple of NASCAR series that used distributors and carburetors. The assembly that held...

    Trustworthy Aftermarket Electrical Companies . . .

Double07 - to your point on GM; So the story goes, back in '09-ish after sponging up $11 billion from the US taxpayer and never repaying, it GM went to China for another $11B. Deal was GM had to show the PRC how to build cars in return. Currently, pretty much all Buick's are built there, some...

    Trustworthy Aftermarket Electrical Companies . . .

Over the winter I attempted to repair a hot no start on an older Nissan, I came away thoroughly disgusted with the lack of quality in the aftermarket parts market. After three bad igniter/ignition modules in a row from two different companies, I ended up using 30+ year old original equipment...

    DB 885 front axle question

Located a replacement bushing for the front axles front pivot bushing. No luck locating a rear bushing. Is there any reason for not using a front bushing in the rear? The rear has a lube hole, the front probably doesn't but that's an easy fix - mine was gone so I can't compare.

Home Brewed Align Bore For Front Axle Bushing

Sourced material last week and borrowed a lathe Sunday. Spent the morning getting things set up and boring the hole. If I ever go there again I'd make up an additional boring bar support for between the front and read bushing boss. The bar was deflecting requiring tiny depth of cuts which...

Home Brewed Align Bore For Front Axle Bushing

Had one offered but I failed to find a way to align on the good rear bushing hole while at the same time centering on the unworn bit of the bore remaining in the front hole. Plus, there's that interrupted cut with the tooling supported only on the one end. A rather small in comparison boring...

Home Brewed Align Bore For Front Axle Bushing

Plan is to bush back to stock. Currently waiting on bushings, supposed to ship around the 24th. There are no Case/David Brown available. . . well, the front is for $34! Found some for $7-8 each for a Volvo/Freightliner big truck. I.D./O.D. are the same, so is the split, bi-metal...

Home Brewed Align Bore For Front Axle Bushing

Steve- Yup, like you I was planning on a half inch drive spud if using a drill. The bar is 1". The frame is cast iron so hopefully it'll not be too snarky to cut if the depth of cut is kept to a minimum until the hole rounds up. I think I'll try the drill first but have a backup plan for the...

Home Brewed Align Bore For Front Axle Bushing

Wore Out: Did a search for "hand held pipe threader", looks like a much better tool for the job than a half inch drill. Can't think of anyone I know directly that'd be a good candidate to have one but maybe a friend of the friend . . . Monday I'll call the local tool rental as well.

Home Brewed Align Bore For Front Axle Bushing

This post follows a previous one inquiring about lubing the front axle pivot pin. As previously mentioned my 885's front axle pivot has never taken grease. Took advantage of the front loader being off and investigated to find the grease passages packed slid with dirt and the front bushing...
