    Ford NAA New-To-Me, Have Questions

i definitely agee that diagnostics should not be done based on "your best guess." You make too many assumptions. You have a diagnostic meter that only reads voltage? Might want to get a more capable meter to do diagnostics with, and take a basic electrical theory class. Voltage isn't...

    Ford NAA New-To-Me, Have Questions

Looks like correct pulleys come in clear finish now too. The pulley on this alternator is most definitely correct for the application. I wondered why you thought this pulley was wrong. Thanks for the explanation. 👍 Ammeters are only useless for people who don't know how to use them. I grew up...

    Ford NAA New-To-Me, Have Questions

Here is how the belt sits on the pulley with significant pressure against it. This is about as right as it gets. Would take a serious amount of wear before the belt would drop the 8mm or so to the bottom of the pulley. Will look forward to see your setup. 👍

    Ford NAA New-To-Me, Have Questions

First I need to find a set for sale. Closest found is an incomplete set for way too much money. All five sets advertised on YT have sold. Will put a wanted ad in the classifieds. I've watched a few videos showing them being installed on loop rims (what is on this tractor). Seems pretty...

    Ford NAA New-To-Me, Have Questions

On the alt pulley, they may have made a change. This pulley is correct for the 5L belt. I grew up in the day of ammeters. So for period correctness, this is okay. I have a fun electronics project planned for a discreet upgrade. Later down the road. Thanks for you thoughts on the 8N manual...

NAA Suggested Shop Service Manuals Insight Needed

The "bounty" so far. Only slight disappointment is with the Davis Service Manual that was purchased off eBay. It is just a copy of the Jensale pdf. Not the final version I was hoping for. But that gives me something else to hunt for. :)

NAA Suggested Shop Service Manuals Insight Needed

Thank you Gentlemen! Showcrop, I really appreciate your insight on this. 🍻 I found a pdf of the I&T Service Manual yesterday. Took a few minutes to peruse, and it seems like a great addition. So I'll go ahead and buy a nicer reproduction copy. Also thank you for the tip on Messick's...

NAA Suggested Shop Service Manuals Insight Needed

Hello all you well experienced Ford Tractor aficionados. Which Service Shop Manuals would you recommend for the Ford NAA tractor? I have already purchased and read the Ford Owner's Manual, Ford Service Shop Manual (seems a bit more like an addendum), and Ford Parts Manual. I'm considering...

    Ford NAA New-To-Me, Have Questions

Yes it can. Eventually it comes back to the simplicity of what works. My thought after looking over the loader on this specific tractor, noting the amount of wear on the valve spools, the amount of repairs on the bucket, and the reasonable condition of the tractor steering, spindle thrust...

    Ford NAA New-To-Me, Have Questions

Good video, and matches what I learned over the years on industrial/construction equipment. Hopefully he will make the video on just adding ballast to the tires. He did correctly mention adding ballast to the rear tires will help compensate for load in front of the front axle. But it was...

    Ford NAA New-To-Me, Have Questions

Sincerely appreciate all the info and insight. :thankyou: Tony your thoughts on the '52-'54 make a lot of sense. Put together with what I've been reading in the Ford documentation, and other threads it was a "light bulb" moment. Things like the semi floating rear axle bearing setup, front...
