Bamford Super 58 baler - How tight should the plunger be?

With new bearings and clean under the runners it should be effortless. The measurement for most balers is the knife. It needs to be something like 1/16 inch from the stationary knife, and equidistant top and bottom.

    What's the purpose?

Look at the diagram. it shows the operating handle, which apparently is missing on your NAA, to engage, disengage the pawl. The newer ones are very close to the same thing but with a long handle as I posted earlier. The newer ones are subject to getting coated with mud and rust and can take a...

    What's the purpose?

The ones on my 960 and 901 both work just as you would want. The operating rods were lengthened from 8N length, so the pull loop is up at seat level.

    New Holland tractor pto question

I took mine to the dealer. They lifted the back of the cab up a few inches then removed the hydraulic cover out thew back. With the cover out of the way the clutch is just below and ahead of it.

Ford 641 - Water temp probe rusted off in the head

I have done it with an appropriate sized screwdriver. Just drive the screwdriver into it, then push to one side.

    New Holland tractor pto question

From my experience with a Ford 8240, I would suspect a leaking clutch pack cylinder seal. You should be able to put it through its onboard diagnostics and it may confirm this.

    Don't see these often

There have never been many here in NH despite our proximity to Canada. There used to be a fellow from northern Maine who would bring two to a tractor pull in northern NH, and then a fellow from Canada who would bring three to the same pull. He would roll in with a 45 ft. flat bed trailer behind...

Yet another paint code question 8N….Sorry!

"Ford gray" is a fairly new designation. I don't know who started using it before it spread to other paint manufacturers, Probably CNH. The first Fords, the 9N, were the same "battleship gray" as the Fordsons. The 8Ns were painted a much lighter gray which was called surprisingly "light gray"...

    4610 Fuel pump leak question

T E R M I N O L O G Y. What does "crank" mean to you???? To must of us it is what the starter motor does to the motor prior to the motor starting and running. Your initial post screams INCOMPLETE BLEEDING!!! Maybe your pump needs rebuilding, most likely you do not have such a coincidence. You...

    641 PTO kicks out

I don't recall off hand. Full level for that chamber is around three inches. Just check your dipstick to see how high it is relative to the plate opening.
