Searching for an intermediate feeder house for John Deere 55

local farmer and friend ran a 6600 and a 55 John Deere combines. The 55 had a quick attach feeder house and platform he used to help the 6600 cut soybeans. He used a 443 corn on the 6600 for corn. Several years ago he lost the motor in the 6600 with 40 acres of corn left. He hung the 443 on the...

    jd 4400?

I ran a 105 with a 404 diesel hydro pushing a 643 corn head and a 20' bean head for many years. The injector pump was set up to the max with a big cc head on said pump I have ran it against a 6600 diesel with the 329 diesel and could beat it by 300 bushels per hour, both pushing a 643 corn head...

    Sprocket

I will add that this was on a late model 105 with a variable speed cylinder drive. But, the bolt on hub I used was from a earlier model 55 we owned that did not have a variable speed cylinder drive. I don't remember how many teeth the clog we used had but it was the clog I used to speed up the...

    Sprocket

If you can find one that bolts to the cylinder shaft with the same number of teeth, it can be used on the bearter shaft. A machine shop will have to cut the weld and press off the worn out clog on the beater shaft hub. The bolt on hub from the cylinder shaft can then be pressed on the...

    105 combine pics

Nice looking Machines all! We had a 105 diesel that we ran for many years. Would the capacity of the 105 be close the the 1665 Case? Our 105 was horsepower limited in corn pushing a 643 cornhead.

    First run with the 615

Just open it up, it should be fine. It is possible to gain some capacity in high yielding corn by removing the bottom screen if you are pushing the machine to its limits

    First run with the 615

One inch is too close at the back of the concave, and way too close at the front. Open the front to almost two inches and back to an average cob diameter plus .250". Cylinder speed should be good. Some crackage is normal if the grain is dry ( 17% or less) Open the bottom screen wide open or...

Mud Hog MF 860 to 550

On my 860 there is quite a bit more than just teeing into the high pressure lines.

Blast from the Past... 88 RC vs. JD3010

My dad had a 3010 diesel when I was a kid. He bought it brand new. He pulled a 12 ft. John Deere RW disk leveling board and roller fine. Fifth gear with the disk and roller. Sixth gear disking stalks. He also pulled a 4-14 John Deere plow in fourth gear as I remember.

    jd 95-105 hydro drive

95 had the hydro pump mounted up at the motor and hydro motor bolted to the transmission. 105 had both the hydro pump and motor mounted by the transmission. 105 could be had with the 404 diesel. A big step up from the 303 diesel. Both machines were HP limited

What brand is the yellowish combine in the sixth photo? The color makes me think it is a Moline of some type but I have never seen one like that.

    55 combine

A very nice combine! I had a neighbor who had a 6600 and a 1968 55 diesel with a quick attach feeder house. Normally he only used the 55 to help cut beans, and shelled corn with the 6600 using a 443 corn head. The hydro on the 6600 went out with a hundred acres of corn left in the field. He used...
