    i looked everywhere i could think for a steel gasket couldn't locate anything. no idea what brand this was .but, went back with similar one from fel- pro..

    feel some kind of way about it myself. built a 400 plus h.p ls engine for my 1985 c-10 and use the stretch to yield head bolts .when, no one else does but the tractor gets Apr. I'm older know and just don't want to do it twice if i can help it.

    yep, head was way off had it surfaced its back running as of Friday just need to recheck the Arp studs now thanks for the reply

    just got back from machine shop had head resurfaced. they said it was bad and didn't appear to have ever been surfaced. thanks to all

    so dry is no water around sleeve? mine would be dry then on this 641 ford. the sleeves looked like this when i pulled the head. so machine shop must have ground on them for some odd reason, all I've done is lightly scuff down the surface. the head is also pitted and doesn't seemed to have been...

    gas 641 ford. no it was rebuilt when i bought it a few years ago. blew center two compression out .head gasket .just haven't delt much with sleeves and it didn't look great to me
