John Deere a down for the count

Guys went to start the ol a up the other day and pull it out of the the she'd. It barely made one revolution and was running like normal. I let it run for 30 minutes or so and shut it off. I went to pull it in it started right up again, ran for 30 seconds and died. It has plenty of spark, I just...

    M5 vs M5

Michael, I think you can't afford NOT to own them all! Let's be realistic about the value of either one of these tractors , in this day and age is that REALLY that much money? Both of these tractors have local history and call me sentimental but that means something. The fact that you know the...

    C291 vs c263

is it as easy as dropping sleeves and pistons in or do you have to machine the block? Is the stroke the same as the 263/291???? I am pretty sure I am either going to have to do a head shim or meth injection even though the compression is only 7.5:1, more than likely meth injection because of the...

    M5 vs M5

micheal, not sure if you value my opinion or not but right now the only solid thing in the economy is ag, I have seen both of your tractors in person. If it were me I would keep them both. Right now money is cheap, even if you borrowed money from the bank odds are these tractors would appreciate...

    C291 vs c263

I am a slow learner and one of those guys that can't seem to leave anything alone. I am not happy until I break something. Got an 806 that is pretty healthy and I haven't broke it........yet!

    C291 vs c263

They are both 706 tractors, i am going to put one together with intentions of a keystone turbo set up and going to shoot for 125-150 hp. The 263 is complete and runs but has one bad valve, the 291 is torn down, stuck and I am missing the rocker arm assembly, valve cover and intake/exhaust...

706 2 point fast hitch to 3 point conversion.

Guys I had a chance to pick up a 706 with a 2 point today, it was a no brainier deal, it was pouring down rain outside so I didn't spend a lot of time picking it apart. I did notice that the 2 point is pretty well worn out though. I do have a complete 3 point set up off of an 806. My question is...
