    Favorite lunchbox sandwich

Bacon and an egg fried hard on my wife's homemade bread with a big slice of onion and lots of Miracle whip on the bread. A slice of meatloaf or a big bread size sliced tomato would be close seconds. Dang.... Now I'm hungry. :(

    Recommend Me a Tractor

I'm in NC Arkansas myself and I'm familiar with steep pastures, Sure keeps a guy from gettin' bored. Have you considered rotation grazing on the steepest parts? If it's sectioned off and they don't have a huge area to pick and choose from it's amazing what cattle will clear off...

    Cheap cattle

That's an easy one, Just wait until I buy some. Generally the price drops like a rock the week after.

    Cheap cattle

Hogs are going dirt cheap around here as well as cattle. I haven't paid any attention to actual market prices on them but it seems like a lot of guys are trying to sell some off locally and they must not be getting many takers the way the price keeps slowly dropping. I always buy a couple...

    For You Oliver Folks......

I shouldn't have watched that. There's an Oliver 1650 for sale nearby that's been stuck in the back of my mind and I don't know a darn thing about Oliver tractors. Kinda' odd since I have absolutely zero interest in the other brand of green tractors.

    Buying beef off the farm

Gene is absolutely right. Bargain cattle usually ain't a bargain in the long run. I know a guy here that thought he got a heck of a deal on a couple of dairy calves a few years ago when most calves were selling just stupid high in the spring. He didn't know a thing about cattle but wanted...

    Buying beef off the farm

What do you want them for Shaler? Beef, milk or just to have a few head of cattle around? Resale later? I don't see anything wrong with a fella wanting to do any of the above but it makes a difference in price and quality. I do think you'd be money ahead buying straight from the farm...

    you might get there

My wife knows I'm a tractor nut and that I'm looking for a Super M like we had when I was a kid and she won't be too surprised if I come home with one someday. Last year driving back from a town about 50 miles away a flash of Ford blue caught my eye and I turned around to take a look and it...

    Purchase

We had an 8N when I was a kid that mostly got used like a 4 wheeler for transportation or for pulling wagons and spreaders etc. It worked great for those purposes but everything else was done by a Ford Jubilee, A Farmall Super M and a Ford 2000. I think the 8N is one of the neatest...
