    sign of the times

I aggree. Many collectors priced themselves out of the market. Especially on the N Fords, Letter Series Farmalls etc. About the most common tractors made. 50-60 even 70 years old. But hey lets try to get 1/3 (or more) the price of a new CUT tractor.

    Hoyt-Clagwell tractor

It was a Fordson. The tractor in the opening scene was a Deere GP (IIRC)

    Three holes in fuel tank

I once fixed a pickup truck gas tank that way. JB weld and duct tape for "reenforcing mesh". A thin layer of JB, a strip of duck tape and so on. Worked for a couple years til the rest of the truck rusted to the point I scrapped it.

    Going crazy for organic

Like anything there is good and bad. It's good that people are eating healthier it's also good that "small" farmers have a market that they otherwise wouldn't. However it's not so good the almost scam that organic has become. The govt. getting even more involved in an industry. The ever...

Sure are alot of dreamers around isn't there??. It's not confined to old tractors. A guy posted a 97 F250, 351W for sale on Craigslist. $16,500. Wow!! Nice truck but not that nice. Was a H Farmall for the longest time for $4,500. Some of these people are high on something.

    Check out this Deere

One thing that intrigues me is that Deere was using engines with more then two cylinders in the mid to late fifties. In other ag applications, Yet the New Generation came as complete surprise to the industry. Surely someone had to get curious?? I have heard one story of questionable accuracy...

    Select-o-speed

If you are loosing 1 &4 that narrows it down a little. It's been MANY years but had one apart that would loose 1-4 when warm. Change the trans fluid. May or may not fix problem but probably needs it anyway after sitting. Don't have a book in front of me but that trans used a couple...

    Craigslist rant

True, but if I didnt have animals roaming around I would have stood firm. Would he do something to them? I don't know, but little comments could be construed as threats and yes I could file charges should something happen. But it won't fix dead livestock. And for $25 it wasn't worth...

    Craigslist rant

I know.... But is it worth fighting. Lost time dealing with cops courts etc. Even if I counter sued for lost time, good luck collecting, Locking gates behind you and worrying about animals well being and all this trouble over $25.

He paid cash. Agreed to $25 to go away. He'll sign a paper saying he considers matter resolved before he gets it though. It's bull crap but $25 is easier then playing his game to infinity. I guess it takes all kinds to make the world go round. Alot of drama just to get an extra $25...
