    JD 24T billhook issue

Every 5 bales or so the left (from rear) billhook does not let the knot release. My manual says this is wiper adjustment, billhook spring tension, or billhook surface issue. I am confused because it is every 5 bales like clockwork. I run 5, shut off machine,go back reach in with pliers, pull...

    NH 352 Feed mill question

500 lb batches makes sense. I have a few sows, and 1st year gilts, on a 14% maintenance, and a couple dozen on a 16% grower. I like the idea of the feeds and feeding book, I have a couple different versions. You ever grind any alfalfa into hog feed? I have a neighbor with some high quality...

Yep, I am feeding hogs. I got a nice crop of corn, and a neighbor with beans and a roaster. Thought I might try my hand at feed milling. Any advice for a 1st timer?

    NH 352 Feed mill question

I am looking at a NH 352 feed mill that seller says has a factory sheller attachment. Anybody know anything about this factory sheller? This is my 1st feed mill, and I wasn't aware this was an option. If it is typical or standard, I can quit looking so hard for a quality pto sheller.

Thanks to all who posted replies. After 3 days of trying to figure this out, I am throwing in the towel. Does anyone have a contact for anyone in southwestern WI who is experienced with 24T knotters. I need some experience on this. I am sure this baler is quality, but I sure cannot seem to get...

Hay on the ground JD 24T missing bales like crazy!

Ok lots of stuff today. Checked twine, twine is good quality, put in new balls. Checked tension on twine holders, both 75-100lbs roughly. Both needles exert a slight pressure (touch) the knotter frame as they pass through. Tensioners on twine case seems ok. need some pull, but no slop either...

Hay on the ground JD 24T missing bales like crazy!

Hi Roger, I have the 24t OM, but couldn't figure out what to look for when the twine just seems to not be in the the twine disc at all. The twine is Lincoln brand 350 lb baler twine. The intermittent nature of the problem is confusing. I cleaned out the all the dust and chaffe, wiped down...

Hay on the ground JD 24T missing bales like crazy!

2nd year of haymaking with this machine. Free from father-in-law, sat in his field for 10 years. He parked it because feeder teeth chain broke, and wrapped around main shaft, and feeder teeth got sheared off in bale case. I got it going, made 400 bales. On last 40-50 bales it missed every 4th...
