Case Ingersoll 226 . Any fans of this tractor on the site ?

The Onan engine would be a major negative to me, especially since you're buying non-running. If the Onan runs with a carb clean and ignition work, great. But if you find out it was parked due to an engine mechanical problem, it's a parts machine. Onan parts are higher than a bat's behind, if...

    Tool Prices....

Most likely, Snap On was required because Snap On provided a generous kick back to the bureaucrats making the requirements. That's how government works, kick backs and graft.

    Tool Prices....

For anyone who thinks chrome peeling on Snap On tools is merely anecdotal, this is a ratchet of mine that is about 5 years old.

    Bad day in the shop?

Always a woman screaming in the back ground. This is why I told my son the factory neutral safety switch WILL be operational on our Powerstroke swap. He was just wanting to wire it to crank.

Ignition switch 0n 83 mustang GT

I don't know if an 83 has Duraspark or TFI ignition, but your problem sounds like a failing module. I have also had those early Fords in the shop where cheap Chinesuem cap and rotors cause too much EMI, which was messing with the ignition module.

Have Silverado w/ 5.3 - will I do OK with the new 2.7?

Almost every engine today, from every manufacturer, has high pressure fuel injection that requires a mechanically driven high pressure pump. Direct cylinder injection is why car makers can get so much power from smaller engines, and economy from larger engines.

With the Amish, it's all about being uncomfortable and/or inconvenient. They don't follow the Bible any better than evangelicals.

Have Silverado w/ 5.3 - will I do OK with the new 2.7?

You'll have to install a variable valve timing lock out to install a bigger cam. The stock cam uses up all available space in the cylinder with the VVT. Higher lift cam with VVT operational will lead to valve to piston contact.

Have Silverado w/ 5.3 - will I do OK with the new 2.7?

I would HIGHLY recommend you have the valve springs replaced in that 6.2. The springs are prone to breaking, and they drop a valve when it happens. Got one in the shop now with a hole in the cylinder wall. $11K repair.

    Looks like YT is kaput

YT is running standard forum software like most forums. The layout is the same as other forums I'm on such as The Old Willys Forum and the M14 Forum. I like it.

    ATF

I wouldn't. Will that savings outweigh repair costs? That's a question you have to answer for yourself. Might be fine, but might turn out to be the most expensive cheap oil you ever used.

Sticker shock on chain saw gas mix

Just use the available premium pump fuel and mix your own. I had this discussion with my Stihl dealer about ethanol. He said Stihl doesn't want ethanol fuel in their equipment. I said ethanol fuel has been around for almost 30 years now, why doesn't Stihl get with the program? Nothing wrong...

    Snap On Tools Warranty

Technically speaking, the Snap-On lifetime warranty is only to the original purchaser, from the original selling dealer. That being said, I've been through several dealers in my career and never had a problem getting my stuff repaired or replaced, and a lot of mine came from auctions and...
