    back pack sprayers

As a kid one of my chores was to spray Canadian thistles in the cattle pastures with a pump sprayer. Only filling the tank half to three quarters full of liquid keeps the weight down. Also with a larger volume of air in the tank the pressure does not need to be pumped up nearly as often, it...

    456 New Holland mower

When the bolt shears the middle potion might stay inside the shaft and might even have to be knocked out with a punch. Can you look at the destroyed bolt to determine if the bolt sheared from torque overload ( radial marks in the direction of rotation ) or if the bolt sheared along the length...

Cattle herds are at their lowest in 75 years.

Fixingfarmer, this is not a a criticism of you, more of an addition to the ongoing discussion. It only seems that farm commodity markets are only truly free markets when farmers and ranchers are making good money. When farm commodity markets tank the Ag industry instantly reverses its...

    Please Help!!!! Farmtrac 555DTC

Noises and shock can travel up and down a drive line, to the operator it can sound like it is coming from whatever is closest. Check the easy to fix things first, like loose wheel and rim bolts, failing U-joints, etc. You probably already know this, using 4WD on hard surfaces can cause...

4430 rebuilt pump still "making oil"

Could the fuel lift pump be leaking fuel into the crankcase?

Cattle herds are at their lowest in 75 years.

When the administration planned to lower beef import tariffs to give US consumers a little relief on sky high beef prices didn't the beef industry lobby strongly to prevent that from happening? Was that because too many over paid when they bought $350 plus/CWT feeders and do not want to loose...

    Should I buy it?

I did not see that you already bought it. Enjoy your tractor.

    Should I buy it?

That may all be true. However sellers rarely provide a worst case description of what they are selling. If the seller describes it as overheated I would believe that and price it as if it needs an engine overhaul due to scored pistons. Does the engine turn over or is it seized? As-is, IMHO...

    Transmission oil level

Utility tractors had a different procedure for checking hydraulic oil than the rowcrop tractors.

Drained oil in front axle of my John Deere 6300, now I can't get the filler plug off to refill.

Glad you got it loose. A little grease or never-sieze type product on the plug threads helps make them easier to remove the next time. When heating with a torch, melting a little wax, paraffin, or crayon into the threads can also help break a bolt or plug loose.

    Steel buildings

Builders rarely handle site grading either, with good reasons.

    Steel buildings

Maybe try to find a local contractor to put up the building instead buying directly from a building manufacturer? Steel building, grain bin, pole barn, and livestock barn manufacturers have construction crews that operate over several states sending construction crews out over a 200 to 300 mile...
