    Another junk tool?

Did it come with oil in it? Is the oil level correct? I'd probably change the oil and try it again. The oil picks up the moisture you are removing from the system. If mine sits for a few months, I change the oil before use and usually every system I pump down (houses).

    MF 135 engine block

How about we start from the beginning. Why was the Head Gasket replaced?

Farm clean out items in Jersey

It's about 10 miles from me. I agree on the tractor being an Allis. I don't think the sprayer is completely homemade. Maybe a converted power unit? It looks like there are guages in the front cowl. Any ideas on the engine? The down-draft carb is odd for an industrial engine. The oil filter setup...

    Power steering

You should repost your question on the Massey Ferguson forum. An old thread on the subject. https://forums.yesterdaystractors.com/threads/mf-202-steering-valve.1640087/#post-10851819

    Rod bearing failure

I can see that. But, I think the babbit would have wiped down to the cap. I'm thinking the big end was put together wrong and the top is tighter to the centerline. Nothing to back that up of course... I doubt we'll find an answer. Lol! Good thing we aren't building jet planes!

Lawn mower (tractor) maintenance - Anybody else do this?

I have a JD D130. The high lift blades get sharpened every 6 weeks or so, 6 hrs of cutting. Mostly the grass is dryish and I don't fertilize, so need to scrape the deck. Maybe run sharper blades.

    Rod bearing failure

Maybe. Why isn't the cap side ripped up? I'm not familiar with that engine. Why no oil hole in the top of the bearing? My money is on the big end being out of round.

    Steel buildings

My property came with a pole barn. The owner had the "Amish " erect it and poor the slab. It got a lot of lows... I'd hire a local and reputable concrete contractor.

    O rings?

I agreed with Mark and Jim. That spool looks pitted from corrosion. That would make it tough to measure with a standard micrometer. The wear is likely more than 0.004". The valve is toast.

    Rod bearing failure

The water theory is possible. It doesn't look like a lack of lubrication. I'd be surprised if you find a smoking gun. Is there an oil hole in the rod? How do the journals measure? How does the big end measure? Is the big end round? Are the bearings marked manufacturer or for size? What was...

Massey Super 90 steering coupler question

The seal on the gearbox? looks shot. You might want to make sure it has lube and isn't full of water.

    Mf202 loader control valve

Keep in mind the cylinders on that loader don't have any checks. If the hose blows, gravity takes over. Fast. Ask me how I know... Hydraulic hose: the outer rubber protects the steel core and the steel core holds the inner hose together. Once the steel core is compromised, it's only a matter of...

    Mf202 loader control valve

The valve is toast. There was/ is no practical way to "rebuild" it. The spools, first picture, were ground and polished and then lapped to the valve body. That extremely close tolerance is what keeps the valve from leaking. The seals are more to keep out dust and water than to keep fluid in...

    Opinions Solicited

A foot switch is a bad idea. If that blade slows down in a heavy cut? A recipe for kickbacks, if you ask me.

    MF 202 Bucket Teeth

I replaced the original 48" Material Bucket on my Massey Ferguson 202 (100 Loader) with a 72" Kubota Bucket. No Issues. I have a few small stumps and two dry wells to put in and the 48" seems like a good fit. The 48" Bucket needs a new cutting edge, sides, and a bottom. I'd like to put teeth on...
