    1951 John Deere A won't start

    Another thought is the carberator. I checked the idle screw was set at about 1/4 to 1/2 turn. I set it to about 1 1/2 turn. The load screw was around 1/4 turn. I set it to about 3/4 of a turn. Is this a good starting point for these?

    I checked the gas. I have a steady flow of gas. No obstruction there. As far as the compression. I haven't got a tester yet. There definitely is a large whoosh of air that comes out when I have the spark plug out. I'll get a tester this week. I guess the carbon on the plugs could be left over...
