    Battery Chargers...

If at all possible I repair the old tools I have. These new tools have so many electronic components on them you can count on them being trouble. I gave up on battery chargers a decade ago and started using battery maintainers, especially since the smart charger would say the battery was...

    Water Heater Maintenance

All that would happen is the water would seem to not heat as well as it was when it was new. A large amount of sediment can insulate the bottom of the tank and prevent the water from heating well.

    Water Heater Maintenance

I think every month is too often unless you know of a lot of sediment in the water. If your water company has the water off working on the lines you might do an extra drain when they are done. In general once a year should be sufficient.

    Under ground water line.

Unless you put 175 psi air in the pipe it wouldn't hurt it. I've been using PVC pipe for compressed air for more than 50 years without any issues. I regulate the air down to 120 psi or lower before it goes to PVC. If the pipe is very deep in the ground I don't think you would ever find the leak...

Tools you didn't know you needed until you had them

Usually happens when you cheap out, like say you need a masonry saw blade and you go to the store and you see a composition saw blade for 4 bucks or a carbide blade for 35 bucks and buy the composition blade. Then you find out the composition blade gets about 1/4" smaller in diameter with each...

    Strange construction sighting

The large steel braces were holding the wall up. They are temporary until they tie the sections together and get the roof on.

    Case IH 2500A Clutch Replacement

It's a lot of work but not terribly difficult. The tractors I've done didn't have a backhoe so that adds extra weight. I just propped the engine side up on cinder blocks and put a furniture dolly under the rear end close to where it separates. With a backhoe you would need to put wheels under...

    Parts Cleaner Sovent

Stoddard solvent is another name for mineral spirits or paint thinner. Before I would use it I would make sure it was compatible with the parts washer.

    Sherman Williams Paint window Advertisement

Sher-Kem used to be just a few stock colors. Good to see they can now mix it to different colors. It's an enamel designed for hard use projects such as dumpsters. Certainly would be good for tractors or implements.

    Heavy rust primer goop

Mix some mineral spirits to it. It should be the consistency of oil based paint.

    Another vice question

Don't know who made it but the last one is an inexpensive woodworking vise. It doesn't have a quick release or the tab to work with bench dogs.

HP printer prints badly on same lines every time

I've never bought anything commercial grade. I've had two or three different HP computers and a couple printers and none of them lasted more than a year.

HP printer prints badly on same lines every time

HP just makes crummy stuff. I've had two of their printers and both didn't last long.

    Car tire

There is probably a nail or something in the tire which driving it moves the nail enough to leak enough to notice. Put some soapy water in a spray bottle and go around the tire spraying it. If there is any tiny leak it should blow bubbles.
