Hay farmer I think it is plumbed through the first two valves and then there is a load line that becomes live when the long handle is pushed forward. This line comes out the top rear of the valve and goes up to the loader valves.

Help on hydraulics I have an older M that has had a live pump and loader added. Wasn't running when I got it, but is now. I am wondering if anyone may be familiar with these hydraulic systems and could or would send me a drawing or picture on how it should be plumbed. Presently it has two...

    Followup M hydraulics

A good idea Mike. When I accidentally deadheaded the system against the first valve there was a lot of pressure. Doesn't make sense for it not to e the same when deadheading the second valve against the end of the Rams-unless I'm leaking pressure by somewhere. I will try it when the light is...

    Followup M hydraulics

Mike and David Here is what I got for pressure. 400 psi while lifting the loader at high throttle. Only went to 500, maybe 550 after deadheading the valve open with the Rams fully extended. I do know it doesn't have much power for having new 3 in. rams because I did a little lift test on it the...

David when you say against the stops do you mean wide open with the lift handle against the stop?

    Followup M hydraulics

Hello Everyone On Monday I asked about causes for weak hydraulics on a 41 M with live hydraulics with two newly rebuilt rams.(two way rams done at machine shop and tested by them, so thats probably not my issue) As a recap the hydraulics are slow and weak; a suggestion was made by two helpful...

Rustred and Glennster-got it! Thanks for the input I will test it as soon as I can get a gauge.

    M hydraulics

Glennster What do you mean by run the valve to the end of its stroke then dead head it? Do you mean open the valve and then close it? Sorry for being slow on the uptake.

    M hydraulics

I have a 41 M that I just got running. I have a live pump and loader and the Rams (double action ) were leaking badly with chunks of packing hanging out of the nuts. So I had them rebuilt and tested at a hydraulic shop. When I put it back together it's slow (the loader lift arms) and very low...

    Packing

Jim I seem to have 4 pieces of packing with a slightly larger od than the rest they sent me. When you get your rod made up and ready to go in the cylinder is it normally just snug or pretty tight? Tough question to throw at anyone when they can't see or feel it themselves I know. I can fit the...

    Lift cylinder packing

Hello All Putting packing in loader cylinders and have a question I am not positive on. The packing that goes in my cylinders is six pieces of rubber that looks like it was cut out of the sidewall of an old tire. You can see the threads even. But anyway, there is a very slight lip on one side...

Perfect. Exactly what I was wondering about, whether to get the 20 or 50 gpm filter. Thanks Steve
