    Vortex air cleaner

I've seen pictures of the plate with a oil level stamping and arrow pointing to the center hole. My '37 A doesn't have any markings, but I fill it just up to that center hole in the plate.

    Fuel bowl change

They sell some nice stuff. George is a great guy to deal with too.

    John Deere B wheels

This clears things up for me and makes perfect sense after looking at parts books.

    John Deere B wheels

My 37 A has flat spokes with rubber also. How can I tell if they might be factory?

Not an expert either but I believe old is right. From what I've read, flat spoke were all originally steel.

    1949 JD B

That B looks kinda funky with that cab on it. Looks to be pretty well designed though.

    37 A Oil Pressure Higher

On the unstyled A the adjustment is inside the case, on top of the filter head. Sounds like I don't need to worry much about it, but I am curious what the actual pressure is. Wouldn't mind taking a look inside the case either.

    37 A Oil Pressure Higher

Thanks Paul. I'm in MI as well so I'd be interested to know what oil you run in those tractors if you don't mind.

Needing Fan Pulley for John Deere A

This one shows the right part number in the title and pics, but the description lists a different number. You might contact them and make sure. Price looks good too. I've bought from them before. https://www.ebay.com/itm/125467403887 Hope the project goes well for you and your daughter!

    37 A Oil Pressure Higher

Ran it for about 10-15 minutes in the barn and didn't notice any smoke. I probably should put a good psi gauge on it and see what's really going on.

    37 A Oil Pressure Higher

After finding gas in the crankcase oil of my '37 A, I drained it and changed the filter. Tractor sat for a few months before I got around to filling it. This was an auction buy and I'm not sure what oil was used in it before. I went with Rotella 15w-40. Before oil change the gauge read between...

    1949 JD B

Enclosed flywheel sounds like a late B, so the serial tag should be on top of the main case, clutch side, below the distributor/magneto.

37 A Mystery Spring in Carb

Now that's interesting because the reason I pulled the bowl was to check the float, needle, and seat after draining a couple gallons of gas from the crankcase. They all look ok. Haven't tested the float yet but it isn't full of gas. Was that spring something they added later on JD tractors...

37 A Mystery Spring in Carb

Good call Mike. It is slightly magnetized. For now I'll assume it got in there by mistake and isn't needed anywhere.

37 A Mystery Spring in Carb

Pulled the float bowl on my 37 A DLTX18 carburetor. If you look close you'll see a small coil spring caught in the larger spring that retains the nozzle. Checked the parts drawing and saw the spring for the adjustment needle detent, but they both still turn with a click. Any thoughts on what...
