    1655 3 point hydraulics

used the 3point for first time with a 7' bush hog. The hitch would on about 30 second cycles (longer until oil warmed) creep down enough to activate the hydraulics, raise back to selected height then do it again. studying the service manual I see several potential spots where the pressurized...

Sounds like the right idea. I will take it out and inspect it before attempting adjustment, and report back. Happy Easter. Steve.

    Noisey hydraulic valve

Hi, been working on my Oliver 770, came across an issue, thought I'd post symptoms, and get some thoughts. tractor is fitted with a Ware loader/backhoe. I changed the fluid in the resovoir, and the filter (return line type). Fluid was milky, and filter was really nasty. With fluid...

Oliver 770 injection pump gear removal

Well, I got everything back together, and I think I did okay with the timing. But bad weather set in before I could try to start her. Just wanted to check in and let you guys know I made some progress. Part 96 <iframe width="470" height="425" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/n8jHUY3wAYg"...

    Hey J. Schiebert

Okay, I did the research, and found all the current (current as of this posting) Stanadyne part numbers for rebuilding the Roosa Master hand primer. by re-useing the pump body, you can save half or more off the cost of replacing the pump, and it is an easy repair to do. Can't figure out how to...

    Hey J. Schiebert

Hello, I am also in need of parts for this pump. My Oliver's parts book shows the same part numbers JS mentioned, and the photo matches my pump. My pump body has Roosa master, and the number 18976, and this is a Stanadyne part number for the complete pump. My supplier is going to find out if...

Oliver 770 injection pump gear removal

Maybe that's why I cannot find an FP mark on the flywheel? My pump model number is DBGFC627---1ED. I found in the manual where they mention timing for the pump, but the pump model is listed as DBGFC627---2BH or ---3BH. Somebody wrote in with pen "FP mark on flywheel", then it says "6 degrees...

Oliver 770 injection pump gear removal

When I took it apart, I found it already has the upgraded weight retainer. I'd be happy to call you. May I have your first name? I feel kind of wierd calling a number and asking for "dieseltech" lol.

Oliver 770 injection pump gear removal

Thank you! Sounds like you've done a few. I did some homework, and learned that brass tube is called a "pilot tube", and it is cheap to buy, as is the seal kit. As for timing, I found the TDC mark on the flywheel, and pulled the energy cell plug on #1 to be sure it was on it's way up on a...

Oliver 770 injection pump gear removal

According to my Fleetline service manual, only 49 of the Super 77's had the Roosa pump, and the early ones were model D's, several were replaced in the feild to the improved model DB. The DB pumps became standard equipment on the 770's begining with serial number 89 980-700. The change on model...

Oliver 770 injection pump gear removal

I'm pretty sure it is the same, just the plungers in the 88, and 880 pumps are larger diameter. That is assuming you have a Roosa Master aka Stanadyne pump. Some of the Oliver's used a Bosch pump that has the injector lines that attach on top of the pump.

Oliver 770 injection pump gear removal

So if I understand you correctly, You leave the gear, and shaft in the tractor, sticking out the back of where the pump bolts to, then you slide the pump onto the shaft? Is it tricky to get it to line up this way?

Oliver 770 injection pump gear removal

Hello, I am having trouble removing the gear from the pump drive shaft. I was able to remove the pump because the whole gear/shaft assemblly slid out the front, but I know during re-assemblly, in order to be sure the umbrella seals go in correctly, I think I need to insert the shaft into the...

    Oliver 770 industrial

Here is an update. I still do not have it started, but am makeing progress. First off, there is no mechanical lift pump on this tractor. It relies on gravity flow to feed the transfer pump in the injector pump assemblly. The manual primer is just there to remove air from the system after...

    Oliver 770 industrial

Thanks! I changed the 2 filters, and drained out the water, and old fuel last week. still no start. Tried bleeding the system this week, still no start. Found the air filter housing was over filled with a grey disgusting oil/water mixture, so I undid the intake hose to make sure air was getting...
