    thank you very much i started over and really got to looking at things Found out the pilot bearing was to thick and wasnt seating flush plus you were right on the head the clutch disc was not sliding at all found some small burs on the splines took a wire brush cleaned it then used emery cloth...

    yes it does have the spring on the end and i have measured the finger height and it is correct 1 and 3/16th so im gonna clean the splines and get it to where it slides free thanks

    also does the after market pp need adjusted or are they preadjusted

    ok when i split the tractor the input shaft comes out with the clutch i have to put vice grips on it and tap it out so would that mean the splines need some cleaning i thought that to but i split it again and there no damage to the clutch plate when i split it the in put shaft comes out with it...

    i did didnt help i made a jig and used some small plates of steel and a bolt welded and put the old throw out bearing on and compressed the pressure plate fingers and the clutch you could spin

    i just found out that when the guy bought the tractor it always had a grind to it then it got to where you had to shut the tractor off to get it into gear same problem with new clutch

    kinda i mean we had to use bolts to join it together it popped and closed the gap

    can anyone HELP me ive got a john deere 1010 tractor.Ive put a new clutch pressure plate through out bearing and i got the clutch pedal adjusted to where theres about 1/2 in free play but the clutch will not release you have to shut it off to put it in gear.That was the reason the guy brought...
