    Pulling

it's the new generation attitude. you have to feel good about yourself, everyone has to be a winner, and if someone is that much better he will give you some of his distance. also known as the external_link approach. no rewards for doing your time.

    4 PISTONS IN 88

if they are the right sleeves. they can be bored to 4". not all 88 sleeves are thick enough to go to 4".

    head work

not really the best way. if you thin the surface of the head that much it makes it hard to keep the gasket from unloading when you do put real compression in it.

    oliver stroked crank value

it will fit. but it will never turn without windows in the block. you will have to leave the cam out also.

    cylinder sleeves

i would go less than .125 on grey iron. ductile possibly thinner. remember you get thinner in the o-ring grooves. i ran as thin as .060 there.

    Oliver 88 Overbore

no hard block. we don't believe in it. we have built custom sleeves with 4.310 bore for the 88 and ran coolant, with no hard block. built custom sleeves for 77 at 4.125 bore ran for 9 years, crank broke. owner called said build me another one just like it. 3 ears now still running strong.

    Oliver 88 Overbore

haven't had any problems with boring 3 7/8" sleeves to 4". make sure you are centered up. there is only about .060 left at the o-ring grooves. we have them at 4" with 4 3/4" stroke & 5" stroke, haven't broke anything in 4 years. won't say it couldn't happen. just a chance you take with those...

    sick of chads

if we all liked the same thing and agreed on everything. we would all have the same and want the same. read what you want, believe what you want, i don't totally agree with all his theories, but if you ask him a question, he will answer it truthfully. at least he has for me.

    Cheaters

always remember he who cheats the best usually wins. the rest just whine. he who whines the most is most likely cheating. on the other hand. if it's fun, it probably isn't profitable. if it's profitable, it probably isn't fun. so if it isn't fun or profitable why the hell are we doing it?

bigger bore pistons in a 88

some of the original sleeves were thinned down in the water area. i bore my sleeves in the block. if someone were to bore them without removing them , they might get a big surprise.

bigger bore pistons in a 88

on the 88, if they are stock 3 1/2" bore they won't go to 4". if they are 3 3/4" bore or larger they will make 4". make sure you are on center, cause the o-ring grooves will only be .060" away. on the 77 the 3 5/8" or larger will go to 3 3/4". this has been my experience with these. but the...
