    Well, I went out to put the wagon back together this morning to find that the adjustment washer I got from Kevin will not work, the ID of the washer is about 1/4" smaller than the spindle. I will see if I can have it machined or just use some washers to take the slop out.

    Well I have been doing some digging and finally came up with a parts list and exploded diagram of the wheel assembly. The part I need is a wheel adjustment washer, IH part #686W. https://partstore.caseih.com/us/parts-search.html#epc::mr61676ar1239745bi812363-4

    You are correct, that is exactly what the bearings look like. The shims are there but the "thing" as you called it is all but gone along with the head of the pin holding it in place. If you know of any of those "things" around please send me an email or contact info.

    There are no threads, the ID is 1.810" (haven't measured the spindle), What you can't tell in the pics is that each of the three slots is a different depth and it has a ramp, if you will, opposite of the slots, that allow for tightening or loosening of the retainer depending on the slot you put...
