    PTO speed on Ford 7700

    The bearing retainer for the PTO if it has bolts at 12 and 6 O clock and 2 and 10 you have a single speed. If there 2 on each side it is a 2 speed.

    Watch Oil pressure when warm. The hundred series motors only had 3 main bearings and Ford put very hard bearings in the diesels usally when need to be replaced the crank needs to be turned.

    Did they replace the clutch when they had it apart. My 6600 made a ratling noise at an idle before the rivets in the clutch disk gave up.

    Belt pulleys were much more common on early tractors than PTO.

    I had a 6600 bought new in 1981 with a 777D loader and no ROPs. The QT loader rear mount goes on the trans-clutch housing.

    Your cable should screw right on.

    Yes that is the unit. I have used the on 5000s make sure your Tach swings clockwise. You will need a regulator. The regulator terminals F 1 2 3 F to F, 1 to R tie 2 and 3 together and go to ignition switch. Gas tractors may need a diode in the 2-3 wire.

    Try getting the front of the tractor lower than the back as in putting it in a road ditch.

    Ground the wires that go to the censers they should move.
