    draper platform 160

Hi, does anybody know a good resource or website to look up John Deere draper platform series? And how to determine the year of production of the header via the serial number of it? Were there different models within the 160 series? Besides the width of course. I have two serial numbers of...

    JD 8650 next problem. Valves?

You are right, I just don't want to jinx myself and have doomsday lurking over it. LOL It's not like the tractor broke down during seeding or whatever, so we can take our time and check things out.

    JD 8650 next problem. Valves?

No we don't have a 'engine barring tool'. But that's our plan now, look a bit closer at the whole picture. Have to wait for the long weekend to be over to be able to get all the stuff we need to go further.

    JD 8650 next problem. Valves?

We pulled the rod out, it does not seem bent. The adjuster screw for the rocker was tight and comparable in/out to the other adjuster screws. Whatever loosened this specific rocker arm 'gave' enough space for the cap, sitting on the end of the valve stem against the rocker arm, to fall off. It...

    JD 8650 next problem. Valves?

Ok, so we move on from the Turbo question to the next. The engine has a light knocking sound, we replaced all injectors, just to freshen things up a bit. It's a new to us tractor, it blows black smoke on start up and at acceleration. Haven't started it yet since the new injectors were put in...

    JD 8650 turbo leak

Ok that makes sense. Thanks @wore out.

    JD 8650 turbo leak

How about something like a shim to reduce the sideways space? Just not sure what the best way would be honestly.

    JD 8650 turbo leak

We ended up taking the exhaust elbow off of the turbo. The adapter between it and the turbo rotated freely as you guys described, but it had quite a bit of play sideways, which let exhaust escape. Thought maybe part of the adapter is broken or something. Found nothing cracked or broken and the...

    JD 8650 turbo leak

I find the leak at the adapter side significant enough not to like it. When I tried to inspect the leaks a bit closer it was enough to make me feel nauseous. That's with the hood up and the engine running. Not something I want blowing at the cab all day with me in it. Others might find it ok...

    JD 8650 turbo leak

Sorry it took a couple days to respond. Took the hose off the intake side and the shaft spins nice and smooth either way and is not missing any fins from what I could see. Put back together, started it. It leaks both sides of the exhaust side housing. Little less on the center side once it warms...

    JD 8650 turbo leak

Need some help. New to us JD 8650. Turbo is leaking on the exhaust side. Tractor blows black smoke at the Turbo as I said and out of the exhaust on start up and during acceleration. We haven't worked with it in the field yet, but I imagine it will blow smoke under load as well. Fuel and Air...

    JD 2360 swather steering question

Steering on our self propelled swather has too much play. We had taken the whole steering mechanism apart last fall and replaced any worn parts. The steering wheel transfers it's movements through a small sprocket at the end of the steering wheel shaft and a small chain to the steering plate...

    John Deere Plough 3200 parts?

Are you rebuilding to use it? Still haven't figured out which shares for the 3200, haven't phoned the dealer though either. Have you found a good reference site for partsnumbers? Other then JD.

    John Deere Plough 3200 parts?

Had a look at PC1308 and boy oh boy is it confusing. No Idea how to figure out which plow part is for which model. They list the different years, but not models. Suppose the only way would be to phone the dealer and I'm not sure they would be up to date on info for old old machinery.
