    Thanks for the reply. I thought it may break the gasket. You're right, I don't have much to loose other then the cost of a gasket. It's just that I don't have much time to do the job for now.

    I bought a Farmall Super A and it is leaking a bit of oil from the head gasket. The engine is running very well with an even compression of 130psi on each cylinder. The engine as been rebuilt with 3 1/8" pistons in the 70'. Should i re-torque the head or should i change the head gasket?

    Well, with all those informations, can't believe I won't cure it. Thanks Rustred for the precision on throttle plate and idle rpm. I now understand how a carburator works. I'm more an "injected" guy then a "carburated" guy. Have all a nice day.

    Thanks guys for all the good advices. I love this forum. The slow idle is around 500 rpm, i'll bring it down to 400 rpm. I'll also tcheck if the throttle plate isn't completely shut. If with all that the "little boy" is still dieseling, well, i'll do what I always did, killing it in gear.

    Hi, I have a 51' Super A that is dieseling when hot. The engine as been rebuilt with 3 1/8" stepped piston in the 80's. The compression is still good and quite equal around 130 psi. It's easy to start and runs perfectly. I tried running it with supreme gasoline 92 octane, it helps but still...

    As what I can read here, I think you're right. Here in Canada, Case oil SAE 30 is $40 for a 3 liter jug. I won't pay that anymore. Thanks guys!!!

    That's what i thought but the dealer told me something about gasket and seal that would deteriorate prematuraly. What do you think about that?

    Hi, I bought a Super A few years ago and the Case dealer told me that I need sea30 non-detergent for it. But I just found that the engine as been rebuilt and upgraded to 2.0L (3-1/8" stepped piston). Can I use or should I use multi-grade oil in it?
