    620 rocker arm update

What number was on the screw you say will not work? A quick study of the parts books reveals that unstyled A SN 435283 and up, styled A, 60, 620, 630, G, 70, 720 and 730 all use adjusting screw F2559R. All the parts books except 720/730 and 620/630 books also say sub for A1291R.

John Deere A, B, G crank driver orientation

It sounds like everyone is saying the same thing, but saying it different ways which is can be confusing. The clutch weight foward with #1 at TDC is correct. If that is making the flywheel and clutch weights together, you have other problems. #1 crank throw and the clutch driver weight go...

    gear reduction starter for j.d. 70 with 600 c.i.

buickanddeere is correct, your battery cable is too small, reguardless if that is what is used on a semi. Bigger battery cables and a 2nd battery will help a lot. I have an A that is over 600CI and the stock starter in the belly works fine...with 2 1000cca batteries and 2/0 cable.

    The other kind of pulling

Do you run extra motor oil so when the front comes up that far and the oil runs to the back of the crankcase that the oil pump in the front of the crankcase doesn't suck air?

ford 5000 engine with turbo ? what is the cid

I didn't leave the K&N on there. It was only on there for a couple dyno hits and it came right back off and the stock system was hooked back up. Just put it on to see what it would do.

ford 5000 engine with turbo ? what is the cid

My grandpa has a (1975???) 5000 with a M&W turbo. I dynoed the tractor and at 540 PTO speed it only made about 65HP. Pulled it down to 500PTO RPM and there the more you pulled the dyno down the more the HP shot up and the engine didn't pull down. Even after correcting for the lower RPM it was...

help with john deere g pullen

Because on a good track, especially with a proper length +/- 46" chain, 68HP isn't going to spin 2nd gear. I've seen a G on a good track with 65-70HP not really like 6500lbs in 1st gear. It spun out, but was hurting.

Gear reduction starter for a JD late A or 60???

buickanddeere is correct. I have a 644CI late A, 2 batteries in parallel with 2/OO cables going to a stock starter works FINE. Tying the 2nd battery on helps quite a bit. Does a gear reduction starter work better, yeah. But for the guys that don't want to go that route, you can make a...

    39 B block

BULL$HIT no need to sonic test!!! Every block will be slightly different due to core shift, AND 70+ years of corrosion in the water jacket. I know of a early styled (1946) B that is 4.687+.045 and is fine. A sonic test is an absolute MUST on a block before boring that much. Even then, sonic...
