Doesn't look like it will be would be easy restoring the cutting edges and having the bars slide well. Tempting piece but for whatever functions it is applicable to, I'd put my energy into renovating a used rotary cutter (aka Brush hog) instead. Pull knob ignition switch
So true for most old switches! I just took a couple of 50's horn relays apart and cleaned those points. I service my two snail horns as well. Just be gentle folding back the tabs that hold the backs on and don't bend them back any more than you have to to get the back off. I use channel locks...- Tall T

How would one vacuum out a diesel fuel tank?
I was wondering the same thing a while back and found out about making a vacuuming tube powered by ones compressor hose. Something else I tried was to open the drain on the tank bottom and with a long plant sprayer thing , Put it in to the tank bottom to blow air bubbles in to disturb the... -

Anyone use their 8n to pull logs?
I was thinking the same things. People seem to be calling the 3-point multi-hole drawbar, just "the drawbar" so to differentiate, the drawbar under the tractor is called the "swinging drawbar" or "pivoting drawbar" cause it allows for a little lateral movement. Remember The Swingin' Drawbars"...- Tall T

New crank pulley from Steiner muucchh too tight, won't go on 1941 Ford 9n on initial try
this may be redundant but . . . I've experienced that with pulleys and keys, If the key, especially the quarter moon kind, is put in first and the top side of the key and the pulley groove not lubricated the pulley hub can make the key rock upward at the back preventing the pulley's inward...- Tall T

Shear genius! Towing from the skinny end of a log and using the brake to get the effect of positrak. A reporter once asked Bob Dylan about his repeatedly being called a genius. But he didn't buy into that in the typical way. He said, "I think genius is just instinct." I like that response! T- Tall T

Sediment bowl in ford 8n
I bought a square foot (I think it was) of the rubber impregnated cork at our auto parts store. Use any glass bowls, like on my GM fuel pump as well. to trace out the circles and razor knife them. I get a better fit than with readi-made gaskets because you can alter the diameters of your...- Tall T

Anyone use their 8n to pull logs?
Make sure you pull from the lowest connecting point like the swinging draw bar mounted under the differential -- if you have one. It helps to have front ballast too especially if the logs are biggish. the leading end of the log can also come up against some immovable object like a stump, rock...- Tall T

Leveling Arm Removal
Before you put the nut back on flush with the bolt and smite it, hold a heavy block of steel tight against the backside of the flat lift arm to minimize force being absorbed and lost to the free play.- Tall T

Crazy Distributor
With the points closed but just ready to open, relative to and against the clockwise rotation, before I rotate the distributor counterclockwise, I turn the key on. I confess. The main reason for my chains is that I have slow hydraulic leak down and I've just been procrastinating on fixing that. But with the chains I can still raise the cutter up when necessary, I just can't go lower than what the chain lengths are set at.;) T- Tall T
