    What's the purpose?

P.S. When I first tried those emerg brakes, I found that just pushing on the pedal might not effect a release, especially if you pushed down hard to lock them in the first place. What I found was that it takes a serious boot heal stab or blow to the brake pedal, as opposed to just a sustained...

Yet another paint code question 8N….Sorry!

Actually my rim in the photo is exactly the same shade as my centers but one pic was taken in the shop and the rim shot was out in the sunlight.

    What's the purpose?

I find them very useful, work perfectly and use my right side one whenever I want to get off the tractor but leave the engine running. If you're going to turn the engine off then the tranny is your emergency brake. Keep those levers clean, oiled lightly and free to drop back down when you quick...

Yet another paint code question 8N….Sorry!

Hobo, That's funny and exactly what I do with mine for the same reasons. I used IHC for my red running boards. Can't remember what Valspar red I used for my seat assembly . . . . anything but Vermillion. ;)

Yet another paint code question 8N….Sorry!

The left shot shows the greenish tinge. Hard to capture the actual color; they al look different.

Yet another paint code question 8N….Sorry!

I took the hood to the auto parts store to have the paint digitally analyzed and the software recognized it as Ford Grey. The color is perfect and after three spray gun coats the paint has depth, looks rich and shiny -- and importantly is nice and hard. I used hardener too of course. The rim...

    FORD PAINT CODE

Hi Tim, When i was painting my Jubilee rims I took the hood in to the dealer selling valspar urethane. He put his scanning device on the hood and it instantly came up Ford Grey, in the shade I was after, so i went with that. If you're satisfied with the blue you have now, you could do the...

    Brush hog blades stopped turning

You might be thinking that the sheer pin is some special part like on an outboard propeller, but it is just a low grade bolt that passes through the coupling that you put a normal nut on. Like the guys have pointed out, just make sure the bolt is a grade 2 (low grade as per sheer strength).

New Radiator Does not sit high enough to put Radiator cap on once Hood is on!

Just remembered . . . On my van rad, it has a tallish pipe on top but then I use a short section of rad hose and 2 clamps to reach up to my filler cap and overflow tube pipe. In other words you might not have to do any soldering or brazing.

New Radiator Does not sit high enough to put Radiator cap on once Hood is on!

If you still have your old rad . . . you could cut the short pipe and collar from it, and solder it to the pipe on the new rad to raise it up appropriately. Just a suggestion. My step van has a tall rad pipe and the cap sits well above the dash behind the windshield.

In search for a carb for my ford 8n

Hard to go on from here because you didn't say why it was none repairable. Broken carb to manifold mounts? Cracked bowl?

Alighnment of water pump pulley and generator pulley

Close up photos of the block mounting would be helpful as regards backing the generator away from rad. I adjusted the pulley allignment of my Jubilee alternator, using pipe sleeve and perfect thicknesses of large washers. There's a lot of meat on typical generator mount tabs . . . 3/16" taken...

Alighnment of water pump pulley and generator pulley

I could have saved my breath if you're saying that the pump pulley and the crank shaft pulley are perfectly alligned. If that's the case then the old belt must have been running crooked all along because of the gen pulley. No spacers behind the gen pulley I guess? So find another pulley or...

    Oscillating idle - 8N

That sounds like one turn. I've tested it with the fuel line disconnected and max flow doesn't happen at only one turn. Try exactly two as my NAA manual indicates. The knob is marked so you can keep track.
