Ford 1910 4WD tractor stuck in gear.
Really? Reason I'm asking is because after I reinstalled the top part of the transmission, the right stick shift doesn't want to stay in gear. I'll have remove the top again and check it out.- TboneJerry

Okay, I got the top off and found that the end of shifter (part inside case) was hung up on one of the guides that it moved to shift gears. Ford 1910 4WD tractor stuck in gear.
Already tried that, didn't work. Even tried rocking while running it with the clutch, forwards and backwards, no luck. I'm hoping that the upper plate just holds the shifter rods. Just have to realign it when reassembling.- TboneJerry

I have a 1984 Ford 1910 4WD tractor. It has two gear shifts. One is the "working gears" which is 1 - 3 & reverse and the other one is the "range gears", which is just 1 - 4. Well time to put this thread to bed. I figured out my problem. Like I mentioned before, there is only one control rod going to the injector pump. Like someone mentioned earlier. It would take a lot of oil to run on the oil from the crankcase. Plus it doesn't smoke at all once it running so I'm ruling out it's running on the oil. It's gotta be a fuel system problem and I will tackle that when it wont start or run, which should be quite a...- TboneJerry

It might be old and worn but starts and runs fine, with no smoke after starting. I'll use it till it wont run anymore. I have checked and there are a lot of parts still available for it from New Holland. Apparently, they produced a series of tractors just like my Ford.- TboneJerry

I meant to say "I will check the stop cable next" but after checking, there is no stop cable. The only linkage going to the injection pump is the throttle cable. Wet stacking? Never heard of that before. If it's not bad for the engine, I can live with that. I just use it for driveway maintenance and ditch digging with a box blade for water runoff from the house. Only implements I have for it right now is the front end loader and the box blade.
