    Case 400B, Junk, Rebuildable or Collectable

    I agree, it's prob. just the radiator, if you have a good local radiator shop you might get out cheaper than you are thinking, just be sure oil is changed or clean in the COM. If your not familiar with the workings of this tractor try and find a repair manual and owners manual.

    from the owners manual for a 400B (411b,411bh,ect.) the full load speed is 2000 rmp and no load is 2105.

    How much trouble is it to change a narrow front to a wide font on a 411b, assuming I can locate one. My steering box is wore slop out and it is rough with the narrow front anyway.

    Learned the hard way lesson !

    Back last year I was running a 3 point box blade on my 411B and my wife and 3 year old was watching. I got the blade really full of dirt and got some traction and the front raised up pretty good, I was able to throttle down and ease it down smoothly but my little boy got a BIG kick out of it...

    One thing to remember about anti-freeze is that is also raises the boiling point of the water, that might be useful.

    Land Values In Rural Texas

    Land here in the Gaines area is bringing anywhere from 300 to 1500 an acre for farm land. You hear of exceptions, but most irrigated is in the 900+ range and dry land is anywhere from 300 to maybe 600-650.

    Stupid question about diff locks

    I've asked the same question about my 1066, We used it and a Case 1070 to pull some disk plows and it really needed the diff lock. The 1070 had one and could pull a lot easier. Less power, but the traction made the difference.
