    Printer Question

Old HP LaserJet printers... if they're jamming, it's always an easy fix too. Usually new rollers, but if it's 15-20 years old, it will be time to clean the page-stop solenoid. Takes me about 15 minutes to open it up and make the repair and put back together. I've repaired at least 100 of...

What is the easiest way to clean out the airfilter assembly on a two-cylinder John Deere?

I soaked mine in Diesel... it wasn't very dirty to begin with, so came clean easily.

PTO clutch adjustment on a 720

You might need to adjust the rod length that connects the pedal to the clutch lever. On my 730, I had to shorten it as far as it would go to get the clutch brake to work and make the PTO stop spinning when disengaged. Also, while you were rebuilding the PTO, did you replace the oil seal that...

    Front End Loader Removal

I don't know what your loader looks like, but I've gotten pretty good at taking a JD 45 loader on and off my JD 730... I basically disassemble the loader, which is actually easier than trying to use a hoist or other lifts. I use a regular "farm jack" to lift up the boom once the pins have been...

Rattling sound coming from governor on a 730

Well, that's embarrassing... the noise was coming from the starter not disengaging. I pulled the starter out and lubed up the shaft that moves the bendix in and out and got it to move freely now. There was a little bit of gear noise from the governor, but barely loosening the bolts that hold...

    IPTO stuck

Yep, sounds like something broke on the inside and will require at least a clutch pack reassembly.

    IPTO stuck

With the tractor off and PTO in neutral, can you turn the shaft by hand? When the tractor is running and you engage the PTO, does the engine change RPM any at all, that is, does the clutch seem to apply any pressure?

Forks for an antique toy fork-lift. Kids growing up back then had to be tough to be able to play with cast iron toys like that, not today's kids with cheap plastic toys.

    50 LP won't stay running

Yes, probably need to disconnect the oil pressure line so the face plate will move forward enough to get to the switch. Also, label all the wires or at least take a picture before disconnecting so you get them all plugged back in the righ positions.
