Would like some help picking a Ford 4000 or talk me into another model.

Yes. I really like it. I rented a trailer and picked it up last week. I’ve mowed our 5 acre lawn and even did some brush hogging with it so far and it’s just awesome. I ordered a skid steer quick attack mechanism and plate and I’m going to rig it for the bucket here soon. I also have the rigid...

Hold on… I’m trying to figure out what you’re talking about. Which adjustable stabilizers? Currently there are two of the chain type stabilizers. One on each lift arm. If I install these LH and RH rigid ones then I can remove the chain type, right?

If you use this stabilizer system, do you still need the chain type stabilizers?

I got my hand controls fitted and was able to mow my property today. Wow is all I can say. Granted I coming from a 60's Deere 2010 with broken power steering, a 3pt that was either all the way up or all the way down depending on its mood... but I was smiling the whole time. I'm very happy with...

Can you post a link for that? I can't find the one for the ford 4600 here on the site.

So that has a bracket on the right side frame that supports the lift arms and keeps them from swaying

Brough home this beauty yesterday. Everything looks good on it. The engine was rebuilt a couple years ago. The guys name who did it are penned onto the valve covers. The oil still looks brand new. The old man I bought it from even went and bought me a bucket for it at the local auction. No...

And it appears that parts are available when something like that happens. I’m not afraid of a project but with my 2010 it just wasn’t possible to find replacements.

Is this the type of equipment needed to rig up a quick attach setup? On the order of $500? quick attach I can weld anything so I'm fine with doing the labor part myself. I think this would make a lot of sense.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I like that tractor and I'm going to go take a look at it this week. I had to do some nonsense stuff with my truck this weekend but its taken care of now. I'm a little confused about your last paragraph. I'm mostly buying this tractor to mow with but I'd like to move...

Sounds likeI’ve found the right model to go with. This one is at the top of my budget but it’s probably obtainable. https://www.facebook.com/share/1Gc5r6rHw2/?mibextid=wwXIfr The rest I see are $5k-$6.5k but are listed as special utility models. My understanding is that they have a lighter...

I’ve been battling my Deere 2010 for a couple years and it’s just done. The engine and transmission are independently shot and the hydraulics are completely non functional. I want another machine. Top of my list is a Ford 4600 diesel due to it being the size I like and appearing to have good...

Help with Replacing Deere 2010 Outer Tie Rod End

This seem like a dumb idea? Thinking about cutting the vertical member and welding on a ring at the top. Then I can set the height of the members that hold the brush hog with a chain and a quick link to that welded on ring. Alternatively I could just cut out a length of the vertical member, but...
