    Fitting a loader to a Ford 3000

I like the idea of the rear scoop from an economical standpoint. I found one locally for 150.00. An old Dearborn. I'll look into that and maybe make an offer on it. I think it will accomplish everything I need to do. Thanks for the advice guys

    Fitting a loader to a Ford 3000

Ah...good advice Ultradog. I'll consider the back scoop. I've seen them but didn't know if they were really that great. I just need to work on some crossings and do some grade work. A back scoop would be much more economical too. Thanks

    Fitting a loader to a Ford 3000

So if I'm understanding everyone correctly, a 772 is what I'm keeping an eye out for. Would the pump come with it or should I be keeping an eye out for that separately? Is there a particular pump I'd be looking for? You guys imply the pump is fairly easy to mount, I just have to mod the...

    Fitting a loader to a Ford 3000

I've got what I believe to be a 1965 Ford 3000. It doesn't appear to have many options (4 speed, no live PTO etc). In addition to mowing with this tractor, it would be nice to be able to move gravel and dirt, nothing too extreme. Just trying to make my rig more versatile. Is it possible...

    It's alive! Now what?

I'm only a 1000 bucks into it and it came with a Ford bush hog so I'm far from complaining about it. I'm just trying to set my expectations realistically with it.

    It's alive! Now what?

I was backing up in loose gravel and trying to back over a 6x6 block of wood. I figured I'd go right over it but alas...it just spun. So i had to dismount and move the block. Brakes arent stomg enough to stop the wheel and engage the other other wheel.

    It's alive! Now what?

Previous owner said the tires were filled but I'm not so sure of that. It does have 5 weight rings on each rear though so it's plenty heavy.

    It's alive! Now what?

Nah, no sign of any of those parts. I don't have the means to swap out the back half of the tractor and salvage tractor pats seem to be scarce in the KC area even if I did have the means. I will do the "seat of the pants" diff lock. I have to remove the brake rod on the left side to...

    It's alive! Now what?

Nope, I don't have one of those. Seems odd that they would make a tractor without one a locking diff. I'm learning real fast a fella would upgrade to a tractor with more options. It'll still do what I need it to do though, which is mow.

    It's alive! Now what?

For many of you, you've seen some of my random topics about my newly acquired 3000. As you've probably noticed, I'm new to the tractor scene and have been digging for advice. Well I put a fresh battery in the old girl as well as some fresh gas and the sumbitch fired right up and runs great...

    Wheel weights...do I need them?

I'm digging the suitcase weights on your rig. Much easier to deal with. I can fab something similar since mine doesn't have a bumper yet. Then I can ditch my inside the wheel weights. I can get crafty and make a tray on the bumper that the old front wheel weights will fit into.

    Chinese Zenith for 3000

My generic search for a Zenith for a Ford 3000 yields the same carb on all searches. At least I think it does. If I do need to proceed that route, how do I determine which carb I need? I just figured a Ford 3000 was a Ford 3000. I suspect mine is an early one since its only a 4 speed. I...

    Wheel weights...do I need them?

Keith Good advice. I'd be willing to keep the front wheel weights but I'm not convinced that I can find a tire that will be flat proof or tubeless on the factory wheels. To go with aircraft tires, I have to swap wheels and the new wheels won't accommodate the factory weights. I have...

    Wheel weights...do I need them?

I had someone comment that it may have been a county or state mower in its previous life (since its only a 4 speed and doesnt have live PTO). If so, that much weight could make sense. I'm just mowing pastures so I prefer to get rid of the maintenance aspect of the weights and calcium...

    Wheel weights...do I need them?

That's what I was hoping someone would say. I'm new to the tractor scene so I'm still learning all the ins and outs of it. I'm not going to be doing any plowing with it, it doesn't and likely never will have a loader either. I just want to mow with it and maybe do some back blading if I ever...
