    Talking about a god deal!

That was a good deal. I ran a 822 with a Farmi log winch in the woods for years cutting private jobs before I bought my skidder. Wish I never sold it. Always started during the winter and easy on fuel. We still have a 825, 922 and a old 520 in the family. All have been good reliable machines...

    NH 460 MOCO problems

Ramps are probably worn on the ratchet clutch. I've replaced mine twice over the years. Also the holes that the drive pins are in become oblonged. Not to bad to take apart. Pull the tire and outer plate off. Remove the drive shaft. Pull the bearing and lock collar off the inside by the rolls...

New Holland 570 ( Need to make longer tail on knot)

Relieve some tension on twine disc follower spring. It looks like a flat leaf spring with a 3/8 bolt thru it. Go one flat on the head at a time while baling in normal conditions. if you go to far you will only have a knot on one end of the string. If that doesn't work you might have to retard...

Nh 268 baler questions Bearing replacement

Not sure of the torque. I always tightened them with a breaker bar. Never had them loosen up. I guess you could lock tight them.

Nh 268 baler questions Bearing replacement

Removing the plunger isn't to bad. To replace the lower bearings you have to. Removing it also will let you get a good look at the rails for wear. I think on a 268 you have to remove the bolt for the cross feed in the front of the plunger, two bolts on the crank arm. Block the hay dogs out and...

16.9x28 tires are a pain in the a*s

Never really had a problem with the proper tools. A good air bead breaker makes it easier though. Only tire that fought me were a set of 16.9-30 on my skidder. They were 20 ply though.

    Same tractors

We have three on our main farm. All bought new, first one my uncle bought in 76. Tough as nails. Have no trouble getting parts for them.

    First tractor you owned/worked on!!!!!

The first tractor was a Farmall BN. Its was on my grandparents farm since new. Tractor was sitting outside along side the barn for at least 15 years before I got it. My dad and I made the 90 mile trip and brought it home. It was my first overhaul at age 12, I turn 33 next week. I still have it...

    Haybine question.

Not sure but think they were 495 or 1495. Excellent mower for picking up downed hay. They had rake teeth on the reel. They made a normal side pull version too. Center pivot was hydraulic drive.

    tying trouble

Flip knotter up, wiper should scrub the bill hook and pass the tip of the bill hook by 3/8-1/2". More than likely you will just have to give the wiper arm a wack to make it scrub harder.

    favorite tractor

As a field horse I like our 2-155 and 2-135 Whites. Have a lot of power and have been trouble free. We have two 2-105's for haying and three Same's and two Belarus's for everything in between. At my place, where I keep the heifer's, I have a Super M on feed grinder/mixer and a Massey Harris 30...

Manure spreader with most even spread for compost

Add the second beater option would be the cheapest if you can find one. We put it on our 185 NH when we had it. Made a big difference. Went back to a Knight slinger 8114 last fall, hard to beat the spread on them.

Mark looks like your doing alright up on the hill. I showed you the TM190 and came up when we delivered it to go thru it with you. How do you like the new one.

    Hayliner 273 shear pin

Make sure your knotter brake is tight enough. If its loose the needles will coast in just enough for the stop to hit the plunger. Been out on many service calls because of this. When the plunger dog is in the home pisition it should be flush with the side of the chamber if I remember right.

    white 2-135

They have a Hercules engine in them. We have three Whites on the farm and the 2-135 is our main. ours is a red stripped one. Starts good with glow plugs. Check the oil in the over/under drive unit. Make sure its not burnt.
