Thanks, that's kind of what I figured (but didn't want to hear). Very nice job!

Very nice. How did you mask the tires from the rims? I'll be painting mine sometime this summer.

    tractor shed maintenance

Here in Colorado, I have rattlesnakes and bull snakes. I generally leave the bull snakes alone cuz they supposedly compete with the rattlers. Lost two llamas to rattlesnake bites. This bull snake tried to make some baby bluebirds his lunch and he was none to happy when I yanked him out of there...

Makes sense - Thanks for the clarification Steve.

So which Rotella product do you use? I see Rotella T1 - Straight Grade, Rotella T - Triple Protection, Rotella T5 - Synthetic Blend, and T6 - Full Synthetic. Aren't these all for diesel engines? Last time I looked, my TO30 still had spark plugs.

    TO30 Steering wheel replacement

Thanks all for the suggestions. Turns out the steering wheel removal was a non-event. Soaked it with SeaFoam penetrator for two days, removed the nut, got my knees under it like Duner suggested and a small tap on the shaft with a hammer popped it right off. Hopefully the other suggestions will...

    TO30 Steering wheel replacement

Thanks for all of the suggestions! I do have a puller and an air chisel, so now I have a bunch of options which are better than just cursing up a blue streak. I'll stop by NAPA on my way home today and get that mongo washer to use with the puller if that's the route I go. It's supposed to rain...

    TO30 Steering wheel replacement

Bought a brand new steering wheel from this site to replace my old sun cracked and taped one and looking for any tips prior to doing the job this weekend. From the diagram it looks like a woodruff type key on a tapered shaft held in place with the acorn nut. I'm guessing that applying a heavy...

Thanks for the help and advice

Agree with Dan about attaching the mower deck. I find that loud cursing and a 2x4 for a lever is helpful. My neighbors always know when I'm changing implements.

    Air filter mesh

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll give it a try this weekend and let you know how it goes.

    Air filter mesh

Bought some metal mesh from this site for my air cleaner. Any tips on the best way to get old stuff out and new in? Do you just pull the old out with a need nose pliers and a hook and then stuff in the new mesh? I ordered it AFTER I saw the recent post on how to clean it by immersing the whole...

Very nice. I have plans to do the exact same paint scheme with my '52 TO30. What paint did you use?

Air Cleaner To Carb Question TE20

funny timing on this thread - I just took my air cleaner apart yesterday and it was NASTY! I'll be trying your kerosene cleaning method for sure! I did order some steal mesh from this site. Is it really a pain to replace?

    steering wheel

I just ordered one yesterday - my old one is pretty sun baked and cracked. If you like, I can report back on my impressions, but I generally have good luck with parts I order from this site.
