    New idea snapping rolls

    If you still have issues, contact Country Machinery in Leola, PA. (717) 656-9733 Amish shop that rebuilds New Idea pickers, also making new replacement picker parts. They have come up with solutions for problems that didn't exist when the pickers were new.

    This is the back of a late production McCormick. Close? Of all the old steel-wheel IHC rakes I've seen get hauled out of auctions in my life, I don't remember seeing one that didn't have skinny front wheels like this.

    Can anyone help identify this hay rake?

    This is a rear view of a Minnesota. The wheels look right, but the levers are wrong and the rear caster wheel rigging doesn't match up. I'm going to keep looking as well.

    CaseIH Parts lookup through Messicks says discontinued. However, the online AGCO parts lookup through Agriteer comes back with 700109415 as available for $56.58. 700109414 says available for $94.61.

    Combined barley

    I direct cut some spring barley here in NJ last month. Grain yield wasn't the best but not horrible. Was it short, though! One field I had to shave the ground like I was cutting soybeans. Straw wasn't worth the effort to try and bale (and that's the money part of barley around here. :()

    McCormick cultivator and planter

    I've heard that some farmers who were doing contour farming back then preferred the mid-mount planter over a drawn planter because it kept the row spacing more consistent while curving around the hills.

    Need help finding 1/2"-18 nuts for tie-rods of old hydraulic cylinder.

    Take it for what it's worth, but the machining doctor website says that M12-1.5 metric nuts will work on 1/2"-18 threads.

    Wagon running gear.

    If you want keep the springs but they end up tilting the bed too much, you could set steel tubing vertically under the stakes, down to the frame, to keep the springs from compressing. Drill holes in the tube to match the bolts in the stakes.

    Literature---1969 Oliver Better Farming Full Line Brochure. Pt 2 Farm Equipment

    I saw a Wetmore grinder blower that looked exactly like that Oliver 408 in a dairy farm liquidation sale junk row back around 2012. The little bit of paint left on it was an orangey color. It sticks in my mind because it's the only piece of Wetmore equipment I've ever seen in these parts.

    It's all coming back to me now. I last plowed with a JD 416 3-point plow on an MF 65 27 years ago. Semi-mounteds since then.

    That's a landing lever to do what Paul said. I don't recognize that plow. A 420 has a one-piece square box for the 'backbone' and a 209A is a truss-frame lacking that 'backbone'. People have been known to make a bottom from a manufacturer that still has readily available wear parts fit a plow...
