    I have a A operators manual in front of me and it reads below 10 degrees F. S.A.E. 10-W, 10-32 20-W, 32-65 30-W, 65-90 40-W, Above 90 50-W.     Went to the Nebraska test book for 1950 the IH TD24 was top dog for horse power but realistically at 40,595 pounds it would hard to hall. I'd settle for a John Deere R.

    98 454 manifold studs

    Why did you replace your studs did they rust out or break? I have a 98 454 the front studs on both sides broke off. The one side broke five or six years ago. Haven't any exhaust leaks yet not going to do anything till they do.

    GMC farm trucks with Detroits

    Where I worked we had a GMC from the early fifty's it had a 4 71 two valve head. Today it would be a dog but compared to a gas motor of the day it was not that bad. I ended up with the motor it run a sawmill just fine.
