Yeah the mower has slip clutches, but not on the main input only the gear boxes. I know its the tractor because I have had times where the tractor stops moving when pulling the drag but the RPM barely changes. So I will look at doing the tractor clutch. Yes, that is correct, the clutch does have two stages. If I press the tractor stops halfway, and the PTO keeps running. If I push all the way in it all stops. John Deere 2630 Hydualics Pressure Out but Not in
No, the plumbing set up is not new. Most likely was installed not long after 1974 when it was purchased by my grandfather along with the batwing mower. I'll try to find a set up picture. I am not with the tractor ATM- tmel

I found this picture, and it is what I have on the tractor. The hoses from the tractor connect to the yellow holes (left of the picture). Then, there are three elbows coming out of the top with female couplers.- tmel
