So the PTO always stays on no matter if the lever is in off or on position. Even if I have brush hog connected to it, and even if I run it in tall grass and lower the throttle down until tractor bogs down. I’m going to get into it at some point, but want to know what direction I need to go... -

5000 power assist steering problem
Having problems with my power assist steering on my ‘66 SOS 5000. The day after I bush hogged my field I went out to do some more and immediately the tractor wouldn’t steer to the left at all. Steering right was just fine no problem. Lifted the front end with the FEL and it steered fine both... -

No oil pressure after rebuild
I haven?t got around to dropping the pan yet to be able to look. For the life of me I can?t figure out why it would have broken. Like I said, it was a new pump from here. I did not have a pressure gauge on it when I started it up after the rebuild, just the idiot light of panel. -

Ok, I was finally able to get around to rebuilding my ?66 5000 SOS. New crankshaft and everything. New oil pump. After I got it all together, it started fine. After checking for leaks and seeing none, I ran it for a few hours to get her warmed up good. Next day I ran it again for a few hours... -

I?ve got a new oil pump I?m putting in my ?66 5000. My old pump never had the pressure relief valve in it...no spring screw or anything. I seem to remember reading or hearing somewhere that it?s not necessary to have it in the pump, but that just don?t make sense to me. What is right? I... -

No timing mark on crankshaft for balancer
I?ll look specifically for it there. I rotated the crank around and around and never saw it, but maybe I missed it. Another thing, why are the timing mark on opposite side from the gears on balancer? Is it possible that previous owner put the gears in backwards? -

I was putting in a new crankshaft and do not see a timing mark anywhere on the crankshaft gear for the engine balancer. Does anybody have an idea what I should do? It?s a ?66 5000 SOS. Thanks
