    Hey HCooke, Did they more than one emblem for a 2N? I replied as I did because that s what is on my 2N and that s the only one I saw for sale. Do I have a 9N hood on my 2N? The serial is 9N216196. Thanks!

    emblems

    The emblems are a dull finish with black outline & black letters. On my 2N I cleaned them down to bare metal & used a black Sharpie to paint the raised letters & outlines. You can find a good pic on YT Parts section of this forum.

    That made me remember that Daddy would tie a piece of rope thru a hole in the front wheel and up around the tire. He would then slowly drive across the field counting the revolutions to the other side, then drive back 1/2 the revolutions to the center. saved a lot of walking & didn t need...

    Value of a Fordson

    I have one of these Daddy had that s on steel. It looks great & is solid thru out. BUT, the engine is stuck as it was when he got it, but he never got to it. Wonder what it may be worth?

    I m confused also. There are 2 wires attached to one terminal on the generator. There is only one terminal on it. I m thinking I should (1) trash regulator & mystery toggle switch, (2) determine if cut-out is good or buy new one, then install new wiring per your diagram. What do YOU think?

    Plowing

    Before farming went to reduced & no-till farming here in NC, we would break 150-200 acres every year when I was a teenager. I m 59 now. Some ground is harder than others, your tractor will let you know which gear to use. But if you ve never plowed this ground before, be careful the first time...

    Thanks again for the info. While looking over the diagram I realized that in addition to a generator cut-out, which is disconnected, someone added a regulator. It s mounted to the bottom of the battery tray. All the wiring feeds into it & the two wires to the generator are off of this regulator...

    I haven t run it enough to know if it s draining the battery. It s in pieces now for paint. Is there a site where I can get a wiring diagram? It s a 46 2N. Thanks again, you guys are a lot of help.

    I have a toggle on the dash of my 2N. The on position is marked "start". The off position is marked "run". The switch is wired to the resistor, making or breaking the connection on the two top terminals. Also noticed that the generator cut-out was not connected. Looks "farmerized", as you all...

    Red sheet metal on 46 2n

    I don t think so, it s bright red & seems to be gloss paint. I also didn t see any signs of the original dark grey paint. The paint on it when Daddy got it was a very light grey, similar to what sheetmetal color on a Ford 801.
