M - Belt pully shaft loose
Thanks for your reply. I Checked the shaft again and sure enough - if I push the bearing into the outer race it tightens everything up. So I guess I'll wait and install the belt pully to see if it solves the problem. Now to repair the pully. The paper sheets are pretty bad and some are missing...- Tom Stien

M - Belt pully shaft loose
On my 51 M the shaft sticking out for the belt pully is loose and I was thinking the bearing is shot. But, when I looked at my IT manual, it looks like the bearing race is held in place by the pully itself. So I'm thinking the belt pully has to be inplace to keep this bearing tight.
