The rule of thumb I was told is 5 HP per foot, so a 7 foot brush hog would need 35 HP at the PTO. Others may know better. -

Check Brake, That recommendation came from a forum on another site. I accept some blame for following it as the referenced 'square shaft' was not viewable and does not pertain to this model. Perhaps an ag 4000 series. -

I figured it couldn't hurt to add the felt washers to help protect the seals. This tractor of mine is a combination of two different machines, but what I have does match the diagram I posted versus Destroked's. -

Destroked, Thanks for the reply. I believe our diagrams are for different axles / brake shaft installations. Your diagram shows item #26D as a Woodruff key on the left side of the shaft, while the left side of the shaft shown in my diagram does not have that as the end oval plate is welded... -

The attached braking system diagram does not list any dust felt seals. The #17 items are brake shaft washers, which are metal. The item #18 are the shaft seals themselves. Any insight would be appreciated. -

Finally had time to to work on this. Removed the brake pedals and slide the shaft to the left and it hit the loader / backhoe frame just as I suspected. Removed the left rear wheel for better access and removed the bolts holding the loader frame to the axle. Lowered the frame with a floor... -

Great news Larry! When I got my machine the clutch was stuck as well. I tried a bunch of things to try to get it loose but to no avail. When I split the machine I found out why! You just have better luck than I do. But that being said, I did get my machine for free so I really can't complain.- TomD62
