    Ford 4500 Power steering

Sean, The linkage you speak of has no play when I grab and shake it. The cylinder itself has very little movement when I grab it by hand and shake. So I then watched the cylinder as I turned the steering wheel back and forth about a quarter rotation. Mind you there is no power; the...

    Ford 4500 Power steering

I am horrible at drawing mental pictures (and as you can probably tell not the best mechanic) but I think I get the jist of what you are saying...the tractor is unpowered right now so If I jack the front wheels up and turn the steering wheel (with no hydraulics naturally), I should experience a...

    Ford 4500 Power steering

Ok, yet another question! (and thanks for all the replies on the previous)...So when turning the wheel, the power steering want to turn the wheel all the way to the left if I turn left, or all the way to the right if I try to turn right. On its own it gravitates to one extreme or the...

    Ford 4500 radiator

Yep, I knew it wouldnt have it as I have the manual reverser. Just odd there is no radiator without the oil cooler specfied in the online doc from messicks. I suppose I could just cap those holes on the new one and forgetaboutit.

It was 11/16...and the nut was some weird type that only gives maybe 3/16 surface face to get the wrench on.....also had to cut my wrench down in order to get clearence. The nut starts to loosen, then tightens...!!@#@! Heck with this...got the cutting wheel and cut the whole thing off....did...

So the old radiator is toast......good grief getting the two nuts off that hold it in place is a bear! Anyone know the size of that nut? Very hard for a rank amatuer mechanic to get a wrench on it.

Ford 4500 backhoe steel hydraulic lines

Yes. I have since learned that the vane pump was replaced with a gear pump. So the line on the right runs about $450...I wonder if that crumbled fitting can be replaced? It uses a thick rubber washer. On the pipe on the left, yes the steel version you see was used with some sort of expansion...
