    quick question on starter drive

    You can "stake" the pin. Take a cold chisel and hammer on each side of the pin make a quick tap w/ hammer and chisel for peace of mind esp. if pin seems a little loose...

    Not sure if some of the replies are talking bendix or starter motor there is a difference. the bendix is a gear that uses centrifugal force to engage and the ol "N" will throw the gear out with more force with increased amps but the bendix on these tractors is a tough guy, less you have one...

    Dont forget the valves need abit of margin to loose their heat against the seat that is cooled with the head or they will burn..

    2N wont start

    if you have good gas to carb...Try this open main jet 1/2 turn, start using choke or gas staight into carb.. when running place hand over carb inlet to increase vac. and suck out that debris past the main jet and idle jet or remove and clean the carb with compressed air.

    Why does gas leak out of my 9N air hose to carb connection?

    I find that starting and bringing up the engine rpm 3/4 throttle them placing my hand over the inlet to the carb will increase the vacuum and clear (suck) out the debris..don"t allow engine to die.
