MF202 Exhaust Glowing Red Hot - Losing Power

Thanks to everyone for the tips and suggestions. I finally got back to it yesterday during a break from deer hunting and discussion with several other friends. The FIX was the timing was way off. I loosened the distributor hold down and started her up. I turned it a little bit and what a...

MF202 Exhaust Glowing Red Hot - Losing Power

Well, no go!!! - Checked Compression - All 4 cylinders 150 PSI - All plugs look a little black, but in good condition, no differences. - Distributor advance weights are fine, springs are fine, move freely as they should. This would rule out a stuck valve. I tried running it again and when...

MF202 Exhaust Glowing Red Hot - Losing Power

Anybody have any ideas about what is wrong with my MF202??? Last night I rebuilt the Carb, blew out the gas line, drained the gas, and checked the tank for any blockage. The end result was that my tractor seemed to run fine, but then as I started brush hogging I noticed the exhaust manifold...

    MF202 Lacking Power

My MF202 is lacking power when it warms up. I can pull my 5' brush hog in low range 3rd gear, but have to back down to 2nd gear to go up mild hills. After I have been out for an hour it is running hot around 200°- 210°. When I disengage the PTO it starts sputtering and popping, then I have...

    Running Rough when hot.

Changed the coil, voltage regulator, points, and condenser. No real change until I adjusted the carb. I have a Continental Z134. I made a couple of adjustments turning out the Main Fuel mixture screw. The backfiring has stopped and it seems to be running a little better, but it still is...

Lift Arm Pivot Leaking and Loose

My MF 202 Industrial is leaking oil at the lift arm pivot and it is loose also. Is there any way to get at the nut to tighten the lift arm pivot without removing the Axle housing? Can the upper plate under the seat be removed to allow access to perform this task? Mike

    Running Rough when hot.

I have an MF 202 Industrial and when it is warm out, about 75-80°, and I'm running under load, it seems to be losing power and the tractor runs rough. I just tuned it up with new points, rotor, cap, wires, and plugs, but I was wondering could this be a carb problem or the coil? It seems to run...

Lower link Pivot shaft seal MF35

I have a 202 industrial that is doing the same thing and I was wondering if you got an answer on removing the Axle housing. Can it be reached by lifting the top plate under the seat? How extensive is it to remove the housing? Any special tools needed? Mike
