Thank you everyone for your insight! Out with the oil, off with the pump. I have some new seals in the tool box ready to go.

    Diesel in Oil 560D

So it looks like I’m getting diesel in the oil. My oil is really thin. I’m thinking when I installed the pump I must have messed up the rubber shaft seals. So if this is true, would this also cause some excessive smoking and RPM surging?

    Diesel Pump and Water Damage

Thank you all for your input. I'm located in south-central Texas and the tractor is under cover. Very rare to get wet. As far as pricing for repairs go, it must be different in other parts of the country. I've used or gotten quotes from highly recommended shops in south Texas and prices range...

    Diesel Pump and Water Damage

I’m really getting tired of spending $1000 to get my diesel pump rebuilt on the 560 due to water in the fuel damage! I don’t use the tractor every day but typically once or twice a month. My rebuild guy basically says todays diesel fuel sucks, especially if your not running every day. Any tips...

    Valve Work

So the head gasket replacement is going as expected on the 560D. Block and heads are flat all seems normal. Question is: I have not pulled the valves/springs out of the head. Should I? And what maintenance should be done?

    Bad Tank Lining

So a couple of years I relined the tank in my 560D. Used one of the tank liner paints from YT. Something went wrong and this liner has become a gooey mess on the bottom of the tank. Any suggestions on how to clean this out?

    Stumped on M Tuning

Sorry I didn't post results quickly. Yes it was just starved for fuel. I have a tendency to go down a rabbit hole and forget some basics. Rustred, you obviously know your stuff, but i'm sorry I don't have your knowledge level so excusuuuusssseee me for not seeing the obvious. I was getting flow...

    Stumped on M Tuning

My M runs great in 30 second interval and/or with no load. I have rebuilt the governor, brand new carb. It runs great but then sufferers and back fires. If there’s no load it recovers on its own. I’ve set and reset carb, messed with timing, all to no avail. One thing that could be a clue is it...

    Stumped on 560 D

Fritz, no offense taken! Im a pretty good handyman and car guy, but struggling with my 560D abilities. So many rabbit holes that are easy to go down. THANKS for all advice, no matter how duh it might seem!

    Stumped on 560 D

So I guess Im just not getting what else or how to get the pump right. If the timing marks are on 3 BTD, and the pump marks on the site window are aligned, how can it be or how do I adjust for 180 out?

    Stumped on 560 D

Fritz, a couple of things. The pump wasn't pumping strong at all. Shop said the store bought diesel had set up to long and algae and water had made a mess of the pump. Will be switching to red diesel. After that repair it pull started but ran really bad. Had the injectors rebuilt, all new...

    Stumped on 560 D

Lets try again on video. A couple of other pieces of info: engine has never been rebuilt/opened, both diesel pump and injectors were rebuilt by very reputable shop in Houston, glow plugs show red hot when pulled and tested.

    Stumped on 560 D

62 Farmall 560 D, had run perfect for many years, but this year its killing me. Ive rabbit holed fixes until Im about to throw in the towel. Rebuilt pump, rebuilt injectors, double checked timing multiple times. Still can only start by pulling, tons of smoke, only lumbers with no power...
