    Problem with JD 620

I have a JD 620 that ran fine but now only fires on an attempted ignition but will not continue to run. I changed the wiring harness, changed the points and plugs, and cleaned the Carb before the problem appeared. I even timed it before this problem arose. The tractor started fine several times...

    Tool Help needed

Just a thought but I usually split the tractor since this is fairly easy on an old JD. Then the bolts aren"t hard to get to. I made a pipe stand to hold the front part with outriggers. I used it on a case vac, JD B, JD H, and a JD A. I support the back with wood and use a motorcycle hydraulic...

    Loosening JD 620 wheels

Thanks everyone, I hit the end of the axle and tightened the jam bolts as suggested in stages. I also loosed the three wedge bolts in the back. The wedges are now free. Loosening JD 620 wheels

Thanks, I will try both in the order presented. However, I too worry about breaking the back of the wedge off. I am also going to try putting a hydraulic ram on the back side before I try hitting the end of the axle.

1947 John Deere Model B Governor question

I have rebuilt two of these governors. It could be a weight or it could be a failed bearing inside of the governor that allows the weights to move. If the bearing fails then the weights can't move. Anyway, the only solution for either is to remove the governor/fan assembly and disassemble it. DO...

    Loosening JD 620 wheels

I am trying to change the position of the rear wheels on my "new" 620. I have the three wedge bolts loose. I finally broke the two jam nuts free and cleaned up the rust, which prevented them from moving. However I can only turn the jam nuts to about 1/8" from their marks. I have tried working...

    Tire shipping

I had one shipped from MI to PA and the sender simply had UPS attach it shipping label to the tire and attached rim and sent it that way. I was the rear tire for a farmall cub. Not sure how big the tire can be to ship this way but it is worth a call to UPS or a visit to their shipping store.
