    Replacing SC axle seals

Replacing the rear axle seals on my 48 model SC. The grease seals came from CarQuest I thought they were a little prices at $25ea the number is 475458. I ordered felt seals from Steiner for an IH tractor part number IHS4448. They are a very close match to the original seals and fit nicely. I'm...

    Snapper snow blower?

My dad was a Snapper dealer till 2001. I have all his inventory of parts, mowers, and blowers. I have a used 1993 and a NOS 1994 blower dad never sold.

What do you use when storing gas engines?

This wd45 looks good. I have a wd45 diesel and was just looking for Allis 45 signs on ebay.

    AI tractor signs

I was just surfing ebay for tractor tin signs. I came across this seller. His signs looked good till I clicked on them. Then you can tell the details are a little off. Must have 30 different signs. Most have obvious mistakes. Did see a nice Allis wd45 and two Case signs that looked correct. The...

What do you use when storing gas engines?

I buy 250 gallons of 87 octane with no ethanol each spring. I do not use any type of additive. Right now I have about 75 gallons left. I use that for snow removal with the old Ford. The lawn mowers were put away in November. Will get them back out in April. I have never had a mower that...

Ford 9N has lost spark from a brand new distributor rebuild.

My opinion no. EI can burn out at any given time. I rebuilt the distributor in my 9n ten years ago. I've had no trouble with it. The tune up kit and gasket set came from the farm supply store. The rest of the parts, bushings, shaft, and small parts came from this site.

Magneto or Coil - To convert or not, that is the question

magnetos are every bit as reliable as a distributor. I sure would try to get the magneto working before spending money on a used distributor. The mag most likely just needs the points cleaned. You can still use a three wire or a one wire alternator with a magneto. The six volt system should...

    Are These Good Tractors?

I know a guy that had two in the late 90's.. His dad bought them because they were cheaper than a Deere or CIH of same size. he hated them. The FWA had a slip clutch. The one they used to feed with the slip cultch would start slipping as soon as the front tires hit mud. They are both long gone.
